Quick Answer

myenergi is a UK brand whose zappi is the most popular solar-compatible EV charger in Ireland, thanks to its ECO+ mode that charges only from surplus solar. The eddi diverter sends excess solar to your immersion heater for free hot water. The libbi modular battery (5–20kWh, LFP, 10-year warranty) ties solar, EV charging and hot water together in one app. zappi from ~€1,000–€1,500 installed in Ireland; eddi from ~€400–€600.

Who Are myenergi?

myenergi is a British renewable-energy technology company founded in 2016 in Stallingborough, Lincolnshire. They design and manufacture their products in the UK. They don't make solar panels — instead they make the smart devices that sit alongside solar: EV chargers, hot-water diverters, home batteries, and the sensors and app that tie them together.

myenergi products are sold across Ireland and the UK through solar and EV installers. The zappi EV charger, in particular, is one of the most recommended chargers for homes with solar panels because of its built-in solar-tracking charge modes.

The myenergi Range

myenergi makes five products that work together as one connected home-energy ecosystem, all managed from the myenergi app:

zappi — EV Charger

7kW (or 22kW 3-phase) solar-aware EV charger with ECO and ECO+ modes that charge from surplus solar. From ~€1,000 installed.

zappi GLO — EV Charger

Newer, lower-cost, app-controlled 7kW charger with no screen. RFID tap-to-charge for up to 126 users. Ideal for shared parking.

eddi — Solar Diverter

Sends surplus solar to your immersion heater for free hot water instead of exporting it. From ~€400 installed.

eddi+ — 3-Phase Diverter

Three-phase version of the eddi with 0–9kW variable output and built-in energy monitoring for larger or commercial properties.

libbi — Home Battery

Modular 5–20kWh LFP battery with a built-in hybrid inverter and 10-year warranty. Integrates with zappi and eddi.

harvi — Wireless Sensor

Battery-free wireless CT sensor that lets zappi and eddi read your grid flow without running a hard wire back to the consumer unit.

myenergi Zappi: The Solar EV Charger

The zappi is myenergi's flagship product and the most popular EV charger for solar homes in Ireland. Its standout feature is solar tracking: in ECO+ mode it charges your car using only surplus solar that would otherwise be exported, so you charge for free. See our full solar + EV charging guide for how this works in practice.

FAST mode

Charges at full speed (7kW) from the grid, exactly like a standard EV charger. Use it when you need the car ready quickly.

ECO mode

Charges using surplus solar topped up with grid power, keeping a steady minimum charge rate. Good balance of speed and savings.

ECO+ mode

Charges only from surplus solar. Pauses when a cloud passes and resumes when the sun returns. Completely free solar charging.

The GLO's up-to-126-user keycard support makes it a good fit for shared driveways, apartment parking, or small workplaces where several drivers share one charger.

myenergi Eddi: The Solar Hot-Water Diverter

The eddi is a solar power diverter: instead of exporting your surplus solar to the grid for a low export rate, it redirects it to your immersion heater to make free hot water. With Irish grid electricity at 35–45c/kWh and export at 15–24c/kWh, diverting surplus solar to hot water typically saves €200–€400 a year. It's often a cheaper way to lift self-consumption than a battery.

For three-phase homes and commercial sites, the eddi+ offers 0–9kW variable output, up to two PT1000 temperature sensors, and built-in energy monitoring.

myenergi Libbi: The Modular Home Battery

The libbi is myenergi's home battery storage system. It's modular — you start with one 5kWh module and add more as your needs grow — and it has a hybrid inverter built in, so it can manage solar generation as well as storage. Because it's a myenergi product, it talks directly to your zappi and eddi to prioritise where surplus solar goes: the car, the hot water, or the battery.

Specificationlibbi

ChemistryLithium Iron Phosphate (LFP)
Inverter3.68kW or 5kW hybrid (built in)
PhaseSingle-phase
BackupPrioritises essentials during a power cut
Integrationzappi, eddi, harvi — one app
Warranty10 years

See our solar battery storage guide and battery brands comparison for how libbi compares to Tesla Powerwall, Huawei Luna and others.

myenergi Harvi: The Wireless Sensor

The harvi is a small, battery-free wireless sensor. A zappi or eddi needs to measure the electricity flowing in and out of your home (via a CT clamp on the meter tails) to know how much surplus solar is available. Normally that means running a signal wire back to the charger. The harvi reads the CT clamp and sends the data wirelessly instead — and it powers itself from the current it measures, so there are no batteries to replace.

It's an accessory for the myenergi ecosystem only (zappi and eddi), and it's useful where the consumer unit and the charger are far apart or a cable run would be awkward. Price from around €75. 3-year warranty.

myenergi Prices in Ireland

myenergi prices in Ireland vary by installer and whether the device is fitted on its own or as part of a wider solar install. Here are typical installed prices. The figures include fitting by a qualified electrician; buying the unit alone is cheaper.

ProductWhat it isEstimated price (installed)
zappi7kW solar EV charger€1,000–€1,500 (€700–€1,200 after SEAI grant)
zappi GLO7kW app-controlled charger€750–€1,100
eddiSolar hot-water diverter€400–€600
harviWireless sensor (add-on)€75–€120
libbi5–20kWh modular batteryQuoted per system (varies with capacity)

Prices are approximate and for guidance only. The SEAI EV home charger grant of up to €300 can reduce the net cost of a zappi. Always get a written quote from an installer. Compare options on our EV chargers guide.

The myenergi App

The myenergi app (iOS and Android) is the single control point for every myenergi device in your home. One login manages the zappi, eddi, libbi and harvi together, so you set priorities once and the system decides where surplus solar goes.

What you can see

  • • Real-time solar generation and home use
  • • EV charging session status and history
  • • Hot-water diversion (eddi) and battery level (libbi)
  • • Grid import/export in real time
  • • Daily, weekly and monthly energy reports

What you can control

  • • Switch zappi between FAST, ECO and ECO+ modes
  • • Set charge schedules and off-peak tariff times
  • • Set a boost timer on the eddi hot water
  • • Set libbi charge/discharge priorities
  • • Apply firmware updates over WiFi

myenergi Eddi vs Zappi: What's the Difference?

These are myenergi's two most popular products and they do different jobs with your surplus solar. Many Irish homes fit both: the eddi heats the water first, then the zappi charges the car with whatever is left over.

Featurezappieddi
PurposeCharge an electric carHeat hot water

Verdict: They are complementary, not competing. If you have an EV, the zappi pays back fastest. If you have an immersion heater and no EV, the eddi is the cheaper way to soak up surplus solar. With both fitted, the myenergi app coordinates them so the cheapest use of your spare solar always comes first.

myenergi Installers Ireland: Where to Buy

myenergi devices are fitted by solar and EV installers, not sold direct for self-install (a zappi or libbi must be wired by a qualified electrician). To find an installer near you:

1. Browse the directory

Search the SolarInfo.ie installer directory by county and ask each installer whether they fit myenergi.

2. Compare quotes

Use our quote form to request quotes from SEAI-registered installers and name zappi, eddi or libbi in your message.

3. Check the grants

The SEAI EV home charger grant (up to €300) applies to the zappi. For solar and battery, check SEAI grant eligibility.

myenergi: Frequently Asked Questions

What is myenergi?

myenergi is a British clean-energy brand founded in 2016. It makes smart devices that work alongside solar panels: the zappi EV charger, the eddi hot-water diverter, the libbi home battery, the eddi+ three-phase diverter, and the harvi wireless sensor. All are managed from one app. myenergi does not make solar panels.

Is the myenergi Zappi good for solar panels?

Yes. The zappi is the most popular EV charger for solar homes in Ireland. Its ECO+ mode charges your car using only surplus solar that would otherwise be exported, so you charge for free. ECO mode tops surplus solar up with grid power, and FAST mode charges at full 7kW from the grid.

How much does a myenergi Zappi cost in Ireland?

A zappi typically costs €1,000–€1,500 fully installed in Ireland. After the SEAI EV home charger grant of up to €300, the net cost is usually €700–€1,200. Buying the unit on its own (without installation) is cheaper.

What does the myenergi Eddi do?

The eddi is a solar power diverter. Instead of exporting surplus solar to the grid for a low export rate, it sends it to your immersion heater to make free hot water. With Irish grid power at 35–45c/kWh, this typically saves €200–€400 a year. The eddi costs about €400–€600 installed.

myenergi Eddi vs Zappi: what's the difference?

They do different jobs with surplus solar. The zappi charges an electric car (7kW); the eddi heats hot water (up to 3.68kW to the immersion). They're complementary, not competing. Many homes fit both and let the myenergi app decide where spare solar goes first.

What is the myenergi Libbi?

The libbi is myenergi's modular home battery. It comes in 5, 10, 15 or 20kWh (5kWh modules), uses safe LFP chemistry, has a built-in hybrid inverter (3.68kW or 5kW) and a 10-year warranty. It integrates with the zappi and eddi so the app can prioritise solar between car, hot water and battery.

Does myenergi make solar panels?

No. myenergi makes EV chargers, solar diverters, a home battery and sensors that work with solar panels, but it does not manufacture the panels themselves. Its products pair with any solar panel brand, such as Jinko, JA Solar or Trina.

What is the myenergi Zappi GLO?

The zappi GLO is myenergi's newer, lower-cost EV charger. It's a 7kW tethered charger controlled entirely through the app (no on-device screen), with RFID tap-to-charge for up to 126 users. It keeps solar, battery and off-peak tariff integration, making it a good fit for shared or workplace charging.

What is a myenergi Harvi?

The harvi is a battery-free wireless sensor that lets a zappi or eddi read your home's grid import/export without running a hard wire back to the consumer unit. It powers itself from the current it measures, so there are no batteries to replace. It's an accessory for the myenergi ecosystem only.

Is there a SEAI grant for the myenergi Zappi?

Yes. The SEAI provides an EV home charger grant of up to €300, which applies to the zappi when fitted by an approved installer. This reduces the typical net installed cost to around €700–€1,200.

Where can I buy myenergi products in Ireland?

myenergi devices are fitted by solar and EV installers, not self-installed (a qualified electrician must wire them). Use the SolarInfo.ie installer directory or quote form to find SEAI-registered installers in your county and ask whether they supply zappi, eddi or libbi.

Are myenergi products made in the UK?

Yes. myenergi designs and manufactures its products in the UK, at its base in Lincolnshire. The company was founded in 2016.
