How do you choose an SEAI-registered One-Stop-Shops provider?
Start by confirming the provider is SEAI registered for one-stop-shop services. Get at least three quotes and compare the scope of works, timeline, and net cost after grants. Ask for references and before-and-after BER certificates from completed projects. Confirm that the grant is deducted from your invoice upfront and that a minimum BER improvement is guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions About One-Stop-Shop Providers
An SEAI one-stop-shop is a registered company that manages your entire home energy upgrade from start to finish. Instead of hiring separate contractors for insulation, heat pumps, solar panels, and windows, a one-stop-shop handles everything — including the SEAI grant paperwork. They take responsibility for the whole project and guarantee a minimum BER improvement (typically to B2 or better).
A typical whole-house retrofit through a one-stop-shop costs €50,000–€75,000 before grants, depending on the home's size and condition. After enhanced SEAI grants of €25,000–€30,000+, the net cost is typically €30,000–€48,000. The one-stop-shop deducts the grant from your invoice, so you only pay the difference upfront — unlike individual grants where you pay the full cost and reclaim later.
Yes. One-stop-shops can access enhanced grant rates for several measures. External wall insulation grants are up to €2,500 higher, window and door grants increase from €1,500 to €4,000, and the heat pump bundle can reach €12,500. Total grants through a one-stop-shop can be €5,000–€10,000 more than applying for individual grants separately.
From initial assessment to completion, expect 3–6 months. The actual construction work typically takes 2–6 weeks depending on the scope. Waiting times for availability can add another 2–3 months, especially during busy periods. You usually don't need to move out during the work, though there will be some disruption.
A one-stop-shop is best if your home needs 3 or more upgrades (e.g. insulation + heat pump + windows). You get higher grants, professional project management, and a guaranteed result. For a single measure like attic insulation or solar panels, individual grants are simpler and more flexible. You cannot combine both routes for the same works.
