I got basic system installed by them…

I got basic system installed by them via electricireland few years ago. Wanted to do more panels and work and despite emailing, phoning amd leaving messages, no replies!! Wanted advise on current system but no contacts !! They probably thrive via Govt grants plus personal connections in big companies as it seems..... I will NOT go to them again . They have changed their name to ohk or something now!

I personally wouldn't recommend this company. From the beginning it was a little mess. I wasn't sure what was going on. The pannels are working and they were installed quick...too quick I would say. When they finished i didn't know when everyone was gone. Nobody asked are we happy with the job or even the word there was more space on the roof to fit more pannels. I had to ring the office and ask to fit in more even we did asked before to fit as many as they can. Then I've heard over the phone how is it possible to have space left maybe the boys didn't fit them properly? That's the last thing I wanna hear. Anyway extra pannels went up quick as well but finishing touches are not great you can see on the pictures. Cables not hidden outside properly just hanging and inside covering it's a joke. See the pictures... overall there is so many companies out there I wish we picked someone else especially they weren't the cheapest out there.

Very slow service

Very slow service , the solar failed and Electrician failed to turn up for the arrange appointment after waiting nearly 2 weeks for an appointment , Have to wait another week for the next appointment and no guarantee an electrician will turn up for the next appointment either , So it will be three 3 weeks since solar generation failed before it might get looked at . I would expect service to be quicker.

After a year it's a huge disappointment. It started with dishonest sales techniques and concealment of various information. The installation itself was clean and tidy, but there was no explanation of the system, operation, or settings. When questions or problems arose, they either didn't answer the phone, didn't return calls, or didn't even promise they would call back and the problem would be resolved. I hugely regret not choosing a different company.

Female customers beware

Myself and my husband had an online meeting with a rep. I introduced myself at the start of the meeting. After a boring 45 minute presentation the rep asked my husband what he thought-completey ignoring me!! My husband deferred to me and when the rep quoted us I was so annoyed I said I'd pay €4k less than what he quoted and he said yes?!?!!! Ridiculous, sexist and untrustworthy. We obviously didn't go with them

I recently had my solar system installed by NRG Solar, and I’m very happy with the entire experience. The team — two electricians and two roofers — worked efficiently, professionally, and with great attention to detail. They were polite, well-organized, and left everything clean and tidy once the job was done. Special thanks to Rob Cook, who managed the project perfectly from start to finish. He was clear in his communication, answered all my questions, and made sure everything was completed to a high standard. Overall, NRG Solar delivered excellent service and workmanship. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and professional solar installation company.

Glycol - top up

I am extremely disappointed with NRG Panel. They were supposed to come on 16/10 to top up the glycol. They showed up, charged me €205, but in reality did absolutely nothing. I only discovered this year that the work I paid for was never carried out. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and feels like outright dishonesty. When a company charges for a service, the least they can do is actually perform it. I would strongly advise anyone considering NRG Panel to think twice before using their services. Based on my experience, I cannot trust them and will not be dealing with them again.

NRG installed panels for us and they were very professional. We have been delighted with them but, we have found customer/ technical support very slow to get back to us on this occasion and one previously which, is a shame

No Cert??

Hmm, not sure what to think of Ohk energy yet. I had organised a BER assessment for my home with the potential to doing energy upgrades. The BER assesor was out and completed the BER, but 4 months later I still haven't received the certificate or been contacted by Ohk energy at all.

I had a heatpump installed 3 years ago, service was great. Most recently, the heatmiser hub has stopped working. Despite multiple calls and emails over the past 2–3 months, I have yet to receive any support. This level of service is simply unacceptable.

I had panels fitted by NRG in 2022 through Electric Ireland. At the time I was advised that I could fit a battery at a later date with the inverter that was fitted at initial installation . Earlier this week I contacted NRG about fitting a battery. I was shocked and frankly disgusted when I was told the inverter that is currently fitted is not compatible and that a hybrid inverter needs to be fitted with a cost of almost €7,000. I was lied to by the sales man and completely mis sold on their offering. Take this into consideration folks when getting quotes from NRG / OHK Energy

It's been a great experience from the beginning staff are incredible and great customer service I'm delighted with my panels and overall smooth process. What really stuck out was the staff that do the grant process I put in my own bank details instead of my Partners as the grant would be in his name. Got an email from saei but I would never look at emails so completely missed it. I got a phone call from a very lovely girl called Aimee and she made me aware about this very pleased with this company and would recommend them to anyone, excellent communication

storm aftermath

We are so thankful for the staff from NRG after the storm last week. We made a call on Monday to NRG and knew with so many in trouble we could be waiting a while. The engineer arrived on Tuesday and checked all the panels. We had had the foot of the panel slip and he realigned the panel and made sure all the rest were safe . We have a review here from the installation and just to confirm that we are 100% happy with both the panels and service from day 1 with Francis . All the paperwork completed in no time just to sign. The panels have been a great success to us , mind a little slow in late 2024 with the fog and cloud and lovely winter . and that was down to weather nothing else. The worry we had last week in the height of the storm when the panels were shaking and felt like the roof would come off, to only have a foot slip we were lucky . Thanks again NRG for the great back up service

I give one star but really it's zero

I give one star but really it's zero. Booked a consultant online for one stop shop as our home has defeative block and we are due to demolish. The website say book a free consultant and there was absolutely nothing free about it. They contacted us and said we need BER rating and they need payment upfront for €650 for the BER that was the consultant. We made the payment waited week and had to chase them up final sent someone out to do the rating again had to wait weeks before we heard back. Only for them to tell us our house was air tight. What a joke, anyone who has a defective house knows there is not way they are air tight, even with the fire light and heating on the house is freezing. The insulation in our attic space is landing on the floor the draft coming through the windows is ridiculous and during the last storm my front sitting room was flooded from water coming in the front windows. Was a waste of time and money. Wouldn't advise anyone with defective blocks to use NRG.

I asked for a quote to replace an inverter they fitted for my father a few years ago. They insisted to come and have a look at the inverter with a call out £180 charge for 5 minutes . I them asked for a quote to replace said inverter no reply. After 5 phone calls no one got back to me, a total waste of £180. I am now using another company and will not go back to them ever.

AVOID

AVOID Set up was great. Salesman was very knowledgeable and having done our due diligence on three other companies, including having them out to the house, we were happy to proceed. Installers irked me a bit when they didn't arrive anywhere near their scheduled times but I let it pass as the installation went rather quickly. The reason for the 1 star review is their after service. It's ridiculously poor. We switched internet providers and not only did it bring down the system's ability to record data or provide us with hot water (via our Eddi) no one at the company had the first idea how to fix it. They kept fobbing us off with redundant instructional videos and didn't seem to know the first thing about what they were selling. We feel incredibly conned and will be considering how we can get our money back.

Installation of Solar Panels

I recently had 12 solar panels fitted to the roof of my 3 storey house by NRG. 6 panels to the front and 6 panels to the back. I placed the order on 15th Oct and on the 18th of Nov, at 09:30 am the crew arrived. Two van, 6 craftworkers. They were gone by 11:30 am. Their speed, diligences, housekeeping and manners is a credit to the NRG. On the Tuesday morning two more vans arrived with the electrical team. They installed the inverted at the side of my house and wired all the panels back to my fuse board. All other components were very neatly fitted in the attic space with all cables mechanically protected and clipped in place. At 17:00 pm they were all gone and everywhere they had been working swept up and left tidy. All in all I'm very pleased with my new solar system. From the start of the process, dealing with their sales guy, Paddy McEnaney. The girls in the admin office, with the ISEA grant, with the deposit and then finally with the balance of payment was a pure pleasure. So smooth and effortless. Well done to all concerned. Looking forward to seeing my energy bill come down over the next 4 to 5 years. Paddy Cullen, Dublin 15.

Flawless

Flawless! All the options were clearly explained to us. There was no hard sell, we were sold exactly what we wanted. The installation was completed in under four hours and we were shown how everything worked. The installation team were highly efficient and professional, there was no mess left behind. Definitely would deal with NRG Panel again.

Beyond disappointed with this company, paid a €3k deposit after roof was surveyed for solar panels, then the day after I paid the deposit, I got a phone call to say they don't do the tiles on my house as they are too old. House was viewed by sales rep and €3k deposit taken which I still haven't gotten back from them 4 working days later. Very unprofessional and inexperienced. Time wasters. Getting panels fitted by another company who have no problem with the tiles on the roof.

My dad had his 12 panels installed and fully hooked up in one morning. From first enquiry via Electric Ireland to installation it took a total of one month. A much better experience than I had having mine installed by another provider in 2020. I would highly recommend this service. The app is great that you can see how the power is allocated and the water is hot. The solar panels work when overcast and generate enough to run the house. Optimum is of course in full direct sunlight, but you will definitely notice a difference in your electricity bill if you start using appliances during the day. Thanks for the excellent service.

It’s a few months now since we got 14 PV panels installed and 4.8 battery. From the first call to NRG to being referred to the sales guy Sean for my area to his call and then zoom call to site survey. Found them excellent and explained everything. Sean recommend 10 panels but l decided on 14 and battery to get full grant as l may invest in electric car in the future. Now it’s just waiting for smart meter. It’s supposed to be quicker when you have the panels. Time will tell. Three months later we’re still waiting. I have plenty of hot water and l can use back up battery in evening when we’re home from work for are electrical needs. Would Highly recommend NRG We got the smart meter early April and have a new plan with my energy provider. Electric bills our way less. In the pasted few weeks l have had several days when l am only using backed up power/ regenerated. Happy out. I already see my investment paying for its self UPDATE Just had additional four panels added to my system in the last few days. Best investment l ever made. Now 18 Also invested in Electric car. The best decision l ever made

I couldn't recommend NRG highly enough. From our initial consultation, to installation, handling of all the grant application info and communication they were superb. They took care of absolutely every detail and it was a totally seamless experience. We've now had our panels nearly 3 months and delighted with the savings, worth every penny!

Found the company on Facebook! Later realised that I had no experience with them through other people so got a bit nervous when paying them the deposit . No need to, everything later happened in perfect order! The installation was done professionally and very efficient all done in a short day with a well organised and good-humoured crew ! NRG Panel installed an 8kW system on my garage roof. From the original quote to completion it was a pleasure to deal with this company. The quote was fair and extremely detailed, the installation date given was kept precisely and the system was up and running the same day. The NRG Panel team worked efficiently, cleanly and tidily, ensuring we knew exactly how to operate the system. The backup from the office staff was superb - assisting with the grant application, checking and double checking everything to ensure the graft application was complete in every way. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Fantastic professional service From my initial enquiry to the final installation my experience has been fantastic. I had my first meeting / consultation online with all my questions answered and then details of quote sent for me to think about. I waited a few months to consider my options then contacted them again to review and added things to my order. I then had a consultant visit me at home who went through every detail of my quote, I paid my deposit and agreed my contract. I was advised there would be a 6 / 7 month wait which I was happy with. I then had a visit from surveyor and a confirmed month for installation. Our installation happened as planned with 6 people in total who worked for 2 full days to install the 20 panels with battery and inverter etc. Everything was completed professionally and expertly with a complete run down and teaching session on how to use / read the app etc. Also a special thanks to the staff in the office who dealt with my phone calls / emails re seai grant approval and also the an post loan application I made. They went above and beyond to help me. Every phone call / email was answered exceptionally fast and efficiently. I would recommend this company to everyone. 10 / 10 Date of experience: 08 May 2023

NRG installed my solar PV panels just over a year ago, and so far an excellent experience. The whole team were very professional from the survey, installers and admin staff. They made the whole process very easy, including the paperwork for the ESB and SEAI. Installation just took one day and the installers were friendly professional and efficient. The real test of any company is when you need after-sales and NRG didn't disappoint. After the installation a slate had worked loose on the roof I rang the team and they sent out a team to repair the slate within a couple of days with no fuss or quibble. I would highly recommend NRG.

We have just had 12 PV Solar Panel installed by NRG Solar Panel. (31/01/23) We are more than happy and satisfied with the 5-star service we received and will recommend them to family and friends. All correspondence, whether by phone or email was very responsive, clear, courteous and timely. All our queries were dealt with efficiently. The installation Crew were punctual, helpful, hardworking and efficient. There was minimal disruption during installation. All packaging etc was removed on the day. All paperwork and information required for Grant completion was dealt with on day of Installation.

NRG installed panels and a battery for me about a month ago I cannot praise highly enough the guys who did the work on the house, the were really nice and friendly and excellent at their jobs They consulted with us and agreed the locations of items and did a really neat job and spent time cleaning up after themselves Everything has worked perfectly and we are very happy with the change in our energy consumption

Right from the start my experiment with NRG panels was excellent, the sales rep was very informative and quick to respond. The installation team was courteous and considerate. My only negative was the wait time and the information available on the App, it is not very intuitively.

NRG crew were fast, efficient, and very tidy. Installation was flawless . Highly recommend! The app to monitor the panel output is very poor though. That's the only downside I can see

It has always been our dream to have a PV system with a battery, because we are convinced that every individual can contribute to improving our climate. We then came into contact with NRG Panel and we have to say that right from the start you could see that this company had a high level of competence. All very friendly, quick answers and very reliable with their statements. The construction was very professional and fast. We wish there were more companies like this and on a scale of 1 to 10 we give it a 10. We are now planning to install a heat pump for autumn 2022, provided the BER rating tells us that it makes sense. Keep it up and thanks to the whole team.

Last Friday I had the NRG folks around as they were booked to install a 10 solar panels system. On the day my interactions with all team members were extremely pleasant, everyone was really professional and their overall work was extremely clean. The team arrived early in the morning at the time they said they will. Within 3 hours from their arrival on site, the panels were up and already producing electricity, so yeah not much else to say, just a BIG Thank you to NRG for their amazing work.

Very professional and efficient company. From initial contact with Michelle and Erin who arranged the financials and grant. Then survey from Conal who explained everything clearly. Then the installation team, special thanks to Tom and Stephen, all went smoothly, very neat and tidy. Impressed with the Solis inverter with wifi and app, you can see power generated on the app and also the Eddi hot water diverter is a lovely piece of technology too. Delighted with the system and would highly recommend this company for solar PV.
