This review concerns property damage…

This review concerns property damage caused during work at a neighbour’s home, not an installation at my property. On 26 June 2025, between 12:30 and 13:30, engineers contracted by Openreach (Circet) were carrying out fibre optic installation work at my neighbour’s address. During this work, a cordless drill was dropped onto my roof, damaging slate tiles. I confronted the engineers immediately, but they refused to accept responsibility. I have video evidence and the registration number of the van present at the time. Despite reporting the matter to both Circet and Openreach, I have been left with a damaged roof and no resolution. The lack of accountability and communication has been extremely disappointing. I am seeking appropriate compensation for the damage caused and a proper response from the company responsible.

Installation engr Victor Ehiosen

Installation engr. Victor Ehiosun came and install my broadband full fibre today. He was very patient and humble, neat and professional at his job. He connect me to my TV, table and devices, he did a wifi check and ensure that the router was position in best location to avoid blind spot. I will give him 10/10.

Seem unreliable and low quality

They didn't turn up for the appointment. Call came 10 minutes after due to say the engineer didn't turn up today. Next appt. a week later the engineer turned up 2 minutes before end of slot with no prior call or anything and then asked me what to do.

Abusive staff entered property without notice or permission

A man with a large ladder suddenly just appeared in my garden. I asked what he was doing, “broadband” he said. I asked for details as we the landowners had not been informed of any work. He refused. I fetched my baby he had woken and I said they are welcome to do work but I needed more details and he refused and stuck his middle finger up me. I tried to contact the company but there was no answer.

This is the worse customer experience I have ever had. We were told that installing internet at our property in west Cork would take 10-12 working days. That was in August last year, it’s now January 2026 and it’s still not in. They were working with a third party to do the cabling outside - it took them months to get the work done and when they said it was done, I flew over from the UK to do the inside connection. They didn’t show for the appointment. I had to extend my stay in Ireland to make a follow up appointment; they still couldn’t install it. Apparently the outside works weren’t done properly! The worst part is the call centre - when trying to get in contact with them, every time I call the line is dropped while I am on hold…every time (you do know you’re a communications company don’t you?). I don’t often leave reviews but this was the worst customer experience I have ever had and it’s next to impossible to speak to anyone who cares in that company.

A disgrace, would give 0/5 if it was possible. Refused to install my EV charger despite having paid it in advance, having the SEAI grant approved and processed, provided pictures and videos of the fuse boards and all required details. Car is currently sitting outside the door with no way of charging it. Ran off to the next job because the install would take more time than they had allocated.

One of your Circet vans 251D30875 is parked on my mothers path ( front wheel and back wheel) in Gulistan Cottages Rathmines. These cottages have no front gardens and the van is currently on a path that collapsed from the same issue years ago...heavy vans parking on it. My mother is 88 yrs old and suffers from dementia. She has just come home from hospital after having pneumonia. One of her last few pleasures is being able to look out of her front window and see a bit of life. This van is blocking her front bedroom and sitting room window . It's been reported to Rathmines Garda Station and Dublin City Council parking services. It's to be removed from my mothers property immediately. My mothers sitting room and bedroom have been in darkness for the past few days because of your companies van blocking the light. Remove it immediately .

The installer came out and for some…

The installer came out and for some strange reason installed our internet (we pay €50 a month to guarantee over 60meg) in the attic. Our previous company imagine had it in the hall and we had lightening quick speed. They withdrew services from our area, we are rural. We moved to sky who use Circet, the internet literally gave us 3meg. Moved to regional broadband and now get 6meg out of a thousand. The ceiling and insulation have completely blocked the internet. What an absolute imbecile. Every single IT/ internet savvy person is baffled as to why circet even do this, we have emailed 5x times, this has destroyed being able to work from home and we are relying on dongles which we now have to pay for until we get this sorted. Useless incompetent company, staff reply once and vanish, if they reply at all. I got the same “address and installation date please” twice and they never came back. The other 3 emails went unanswered. I am now looking into a solicitor for the loss of earnings and the lack of competence. This is ongoing 6 months and we have had enough. Avoid any company who uses circet.

Absolutely Useless service. Scheduled with Circet to install our fibre broadband a month ago. Booked day off work to be there , Man came and had to leave after 30 minutes because he wasn’t feeling well. That was fair enough. Rescheduled for them to come out tomorrow the 17th, booked another day off work and they rang today cancelling at the last minute. No apology or reasonable explanation. Not good enough.

Had the fibre done today by a lad name is Tom very nice lad done a great job explained everything and the job wasn't quite so easy for him but he just got on with it and done the job. I think that workers like Tom should receive a bonus from their employer for the hard work they do. As the employer gets big money from the government to install it. Tom have a nice Xmas you and your family and Thanks.

Update: The internet has been installed and the man was very nice and professional. If they turn up, the work is quickly done and very professional. However I was waiting 6 weeks and they cancelled multiple times. Be prepared for a long way with Very bad customer service, but once they arrive everything goes very smoothly. Old review: Very bad company with ignorant staff. The customer service lines are a joke. They'll pick up and then put the phone down and you can hear them talking and laughing in the background until you hang up. Everytime they cancel they say some rubbish such as "our technician had an emergency" or "rang in sick" and will always leave it up until the last minute to call you. They're the only ones in the country providing the service so they don't have to care about how customers feel or the quality of service.

Full fibre installation

We had engineer David Green to install our fibre broadband yesterday. We booked it with sky and only had to wait a week for it to be installed. David rang us on the day to let us know exactly when he would arrive. His work was fast and neat with minimum disruption on the premises. He explained what had been fitted and the switch over was seamless. We had a few queries the following day and David answered our messages and went above and beyond to help us out. My experience of changing broadband has never been so smooth and easy, an excellent engineer...fantastic customer service. We can't thank you enough.

Terrible experience. I made three appointments: – First time, no one showed up. – Second time, the technician came but said they were about to finish work. – Third time, they came again but said they didn’t have the right tools and that someone else should have been sent. Completely disorganized and unprofessional — a total waste of time. What’s worse, in Ireland almost every broadband provider uses this same installation company. With no competition, the service quality is exactly what you’d expect. Ireland really needs another company to step in and do this properly.

Worst service company ever Overhead fibre optic broadband cable…

Overhead fibre optic broadband cable damaged. Contacted Vodafone on the day 4/11/25, received a call from Circet same day asking what the problem was, I explained that the cable had been ripped from the telegraph pole and that it would require a replacement cable. Appointment made for 7/11/25 between 12:00 and 16:00, no one from Circet arrived. New appointment made for 11/11/25 between 12:00 and 16:00, Engineer arrived around 15:00 stayed less than 15 minutes and then told me that he was told to leave my house and go to another job, cable still not reconnected. Next appointment 17/11/25. I wont be holding my breath. Absolutely the worst service company I have ever encountered. They have the telecommunications structure almost completely to themselves and obviously can do what they like without having to answer to anyone.

Pathetic ineffectual attempt at offering installation on multiple failed occassions

I am so sorry that I didn't read reviews of the lack of performance of this uncaring pathetic entity. My woes began when I had to update my new credit card expiry date with Eir in September. A lovely chap named Patrick sold me on the notion of upgrading to fibre broadband which was now " available in my area " He transferred me to Circet. After 18 mins of elevator music my call dropped off. I rang a number, cue elevator concerto 11 for 14 mins. I bought in to the blurb presented to me by the person who eventually answered my call ( which was in a queue, very important to us and if I wanted to bale out they would call me back when my call got to the top of the queue... ), I agreed to all terms and conditions ( which is recorded for training porpoises etc.sic... ) they took my bank details and told me a technician would survey my property shortly prior to carrying out the upgrade. I waited a month and phoned Eir enquiring why my monthly bill had increased but I hadn't yet received my upgrade. They referred me to Circet... I contacted them asking why no technician had interacted with me, they looked at their records and despite me having confirming emails and texts / WhatsApp messages, claimed they had no record of me siging up for the fiber product over a month earlier. I expressed my annoyance and disbelief. Went through the entire process for the 2nd time and was given an installation date of 05 November 2025 PM ( I believe I was " prioritised ".... Over 18 to be in attendance on site on the proposed installation date. I waited and waited and @ 15:30 received a call and subsequent message asking if a rescheduled date of 10 November 2025 08:00 - 12:00 was acceptable, I accepted. Nobody arrived all morning ( I was obliged to ask my daughter to come and bring my wife to a funeral of a friend because I had to wait for the installer, I had hoped I would make it to the cremation after the requiem mass if they arrived at close to scheduled 08:00 and completed the task but they rang near midday and asked if the PM would suffice, I replied that this was the 2nd time this happened and I had no choice... At 16:00 I rang to ask if the technician was going to arrive at all today, my call was batted off from the " Customer care center " to an overworked technician who was working nearby but had, he said 2 " priority " jobs on his worksheet today which was unusual he said. The job he was stuck at involved running 350 meters of underground fiber cable to a large premises and remained uncompleted at that hour. My house required 30 meters of cable from a 10 meter pole into a bungalow. The chap said it was unlikely he would get to me as it was getting dark. He said I'd probably get a call around 19:00 when they re assessed the jobs for tomorrow... Tuesday 11 November 2025 and imagined that as I was a priority job today that I might be on top of the list on Tue. I got a call from HQRS Circet Dublin saying that they could fit me in on Tuesday so I said I suppose I'll have to stay in all day tomorrow again also so... but was told no I wasn't a priority and the Tuesday was Tuesday week... 8 days away... I obviously set out all my complaints re the matter I even said to the girl on the phone that although I was quite vexed with the situation my daughter worked on a similar job to her so I didn't want to be rude or cause offence to her. I refused the appointment date offered but she insisted that I couldn't " roll " my priority on to a closer date. I enquired how to go about cancelling the entire unfulfilled project due to my frustration and my lack of faith that the task would be completed on that future date, she told me she'd cancel it at her end and for some reason I have to contact Eir also. To be honest she hung up on me with undue haste due to I'd imagine being unable to progress the matter to a positive result and most likely work load and the lateness of the hour...So in the morning I now need to find a different broadband provider and also cancel my wife's mobile phone with Eir which was an add on to our household package. Other than being annoyed, I'm just wondering; How can a National entity such as this be so uncaring, inefficient and inept? But ironically I'm not all that surprised given their inability to get matters corrected in the 1st instance having a glaring problem identified and then magnifying the problem by not availing of several opportunities to put it right and that is the kernel of the probity the likes of these " entitled entities in Ireland " answerable to nobody including the comptroller or supposed regulator LOL.

Absolute a disgrace

Absolute a disgrace. Surely to god in this day and age they are employing the correct amount of staff. Had a faulty line and contacted Vodafone immediately which was on a Tuesday. Explained to them that I was Oncall for my job and depended on the wifi as I cannot get any phone coverage where I live. Vodafone said it would put in a request as an emergency. Received a phone call the next day from Circet to say the earliest where they could get to me was the following week, nearly 6 days later. Girl on the phone had a dismissive attitude and it was like she couldn't care less. At least when we had our previous company, as bad enough as they were, they came out immediately to fix the problem. Paying for a service monthly which we are not currently receiving, even though Vodafone said i would be recompensated. Dont know how they will do that as we pay direct debit monthly. I will be looking further into this.

Absolutely appalling service. Had arranged through Vodafone for a technician to fix my broadband line for Friday after already waiting a week for them. Was told someone would come to me between 1pm and 5pm. Received a call at 5:05pm saying a technician would not be coming to me as he had an emergency. Would give a bit of a grace but considering they called me 2 days prior to my arranged appointment asking me to reschedule I don’t believe a word of it. Was told the next available appointment was the following Friday (2 weeks wait). Pathetic customer service, just kept being told “yeah sorry”, awful awful company. Avoid anything to do with them

Engineer was to arrive between 12 and 4 on Tuesday. He arrived at 10 while I was out. 2nd engineer due today between 12 and 4. It's now 5.15 and no sign. Phoned the office and they don't know where he is or if he'll turn up. I asked to speak to a manager and the said it would be 48 hours before it a manager would contact me. Horrible company to deal with. Their appointment department have just been in touch and have informed me that they only take bookings for a low lying wire for the next 48hrs. Today is Monday but if I want to book a friday repair when I'm at home, I need to cancel this booking and place another request with Vodafone. This is very Frustrating as I just sat on Hold for 30mins with Vodafone to get this booking.

Received a telephone call today from Circet informing me that they were cancelling my repair appointment for this afternoon. The reason .......... they had " a bigger job " to complete !!! Offered to reschedule our repair to Thursday . Considering the fault was reported five days ago it is a complete shambles and totally inadequate service. If you're considering running a small business from home or relying on this company in any way I would steer clear. The amount of other poor reviews raise a lot of questions for me and should be a cause for public concern too . Wanted to give O stars but the option wasn't available Update , on the Thursday I phoned again as there had been no contact. Wait for it ......... once again they were still " dealing with another situation " I was informed I should have had an email to inform me it would now be Monday ( not Friday , not Saturday) before an engineer could get to me. Eventually it was dealt with on the Monday meaning a nine day wait. Even on the Monday the scheduled time was again changed and delayed by six hours !!

A Job Well Done!

Dennis and Kosten arrived at my house yesterday to install a fibre cable and set up my new Sky broadband hub. The job was executed professionally and efficiently, and took no longer than an hour to complete. Sometimes in life the only thing we crave is being recognised by the quality of work we do. So I would like to extend that recognition to them both. Well done, lads - on a job well done.

Absolute joke of a company waiting on broadband 2 months now have been resceduled 3 times and waiting from 12 to 4 today not a sign of anyone took up my whole day called them and was told oh he’s scheduled to come out . Avoid at all costs. It's a shame that Google does not provide the option to rate someone zero stars, as this company deserves nothing at all. We have been waiting for the broadband to be installed since the 20th of May 2025, it is now the 5th of August 2025, and we have once more received a text message stating that it is "put on hold for an additional 10-12 days". This was of course not the first time our order was put on hold, and if it's not the "engineer" is simply unable or unwilling to do the job he is assigned to do, so he just postpones it to another day and another "engineer". The whole company is a joke, as I have been trying to get in touch with someone "upstairs" but am instead stuck in a loop and still waiting for a "managers call" for months. Of course Circet was not our choice, but they were rather forced upon us by Sky, but if you do receive a notification that your installation is to be done by this company your best bet is to immediately cancel the whole order.

Circet installation of fibre broadband is chaotic with a complete lack of joined up thinking. So may simple systemic by Circet have lead to cancellations and rescheduling. The left arm and right arm are not connected. They called out to do installation to find out that the Fibre hadn't been installed at the pole nearest to my house, despite doing a full survey beforehand. They rescheduled and I waited another 4 weeks to be told the day before installation that now they need to trim trees and it'll take another 3 weeks. Why do they make it so difficult for themselves and their customers ? It's pathetic!

Been waiting for kn to come out and install fibre broadband at our home for 6 months!!!! Every time it’s a different excuse been cancelled 3 times for no reason of our own first time 1 day before appointment just got a text to say our order has been cancelled Second time tech didn’t show according to kn he was “sick” know one contacted us to say what was happening and the third time I was waiting all day contacted kn to ask what the situation is tech then rang me to say he was in Tipperary that he wouldn’t be able to come! Also said to me that he was trying to get through to kn all day to organise cover and know one would contact him back…..appalling service when you don’t even answer one of your own techs backs anyways have been booked back in for 3 days time we will see what excuse they come up with on the day really have been let down big time by this company…once again been let down by this company absolutely shocking behaviour someone was supposed to call out still no sign of anyone every time I call in they leave me on hold and then knock the call off I genuinely am so sick of this I have been waiting 6 months for WiFi it is gone beyond a joke

KN Circet are beginning to show their true pedigree as an organisation that specialises in milking the Irish Government for as much as possible, while a holding a monopoly contract with NBI. My personal experience, in the connection of fibre for the National Broadband Initiative, is one of delay, delay, delay , - over six months now, after the service arrived on the street outside. How you can arbitrarily inform a customer, 24 hours before an appointment and without coming on site, that they must ‘push your installation out’, I can only understand as an abuse of both customer and contract. Following a day of meetings and calls, it appears this is widespread. It is easier and more remunerative to press a button and classify a job as ‘ survey required’ than to do the actual job. It does not surprise me to read that this French owned company supports The National Children’s Hospital, - what better way to maximise your investment return than learn from one of the greatest of all legal con jobs of recent times.

Two weeks ago a lovely guy came to upgrade me to fibre but couldn't. No access to duct which was under my stairs. I told them I'd make it accessible and rebooked with Eir for later date as they supply my service. Earliest date I could get was May 1st. Today they were in my estate connecting a neighbour and I decided to ask advice on if I had prepared enough for my call out. The guy told me yes, and would I like to be connected today. There were two guys, one ftom Moldova, one from Ireland. Well, one very happy customer here!! I'm all connected up now, 3 weeks early, and the guys were so professional, helpful and cleaned up after themselves. Customer Service at its best!!
