Rapid solar adoption across Mayo farms

Mayo's beef and sheep farms have been adopting solar at one of the fastest rates in Connacht. The TAMS III grant is particularly valuable for Mayo's extensive farming sector — farms with large shed roofs for livestock housing and feed storage have ideal mounting surfaces. The Claremorris, Knock, and Ballinrobe areas have seen clusters of farm installations, often 20–30kWp systems that offset water pumping, lighting, and electric fencing costs. The county's agricultural advisor network has been actively promoting solar as part of sustainability planning.
