Dreadful

Dreadful. Total 'cowboys'. System originally installed with 60% of panels not functioning. 4 phone calls and 2 site visits later they accepted the problem and rectified. Next became clear they failed to earth the inverter casing. One month later after a missed appointment they rectified the system. Cowboys ted. Cowboys..

This used to be an excellent review but unfortunately time and time again this company has proven that since acquisition they do not care. Once they have your money they are impossible to deal with. My experiences with their service team (when they call back) are terrible. Perfect example of a local company sept up by a bigger company and the service falls apart. There so many of these solar companies now, choose carefully.

App not working making panels completely useless!

The app linked to the panels isn't available in android 14+ phones therefore making it impossible to gauge/control how the panels charge/discharge. Until jfw renewables change their app compatibility to EU phones the efficiency of the panels is completely out of the users hands making them absolutely useless for the owner. As we installed our panels over 2 years ago, costing over €16000, customer service/aftercare fob you off on this vital component in ensuring the maximum efficiency of solar energy. The fact you can't use the app is a complete contradiction to buying the panels in the first place.

Not a good experience and getting worse

Had my installation of Solar Panels now over 18 months, firstly to my surprise JFW installed the panels but they had a separate local electrical company install the electrical equipment and wiring, Bunch of young lads who honestly didnt care less about going in and out of the house bringing dirt in on carpets, you know then there not going to be tidy at their work, They actually wired the fireman switches to an extension lead socket in the attic so now i have to ensure the extension lead is not plugged out, I see othe installs shown on facebook with other companies strongly feel i was ripped off, Now to make things worse my inverter stopped working over a week ago and it feels like im being fobbed off on the service call, they say the scheduler will call next day ,so i call again and same story ,I have taken to contacting the Manufacters of the equipment now to see if they can get the Inverter to work, Thats my experience and feel guilty now for recommending this company to others, Never have written reviews before but this company i feel needs mentioning.

Great company to deal with

Great company to deal with. Very happy with installation, very tidy and clean. Great service, first phone call to installation was quick and easy. Solar panels installed Nov 2024, esb bills reduced significantly straight away and have been in credit the last few months, will have plenty of credit built up for the winter months. We have a fully electric house, solar panels work perfect, so happy to have gone to JFW renewables.

AVOID -Shop around!

Utterly atrocious service once the system is installed. Well over 2 years now and anytime I have had issues I either got no call back or told it will be weeks before someone can come out and that there are call out charges. All down to cheap battery powered safety devices they installed and never made us aware of. To be clear - we asked if any of what they were installing in the most inaccessible part of our attic need to be serviced and were told no. They never told us of or listed that device on the paperwork. We bought from them before they were consumed by OHK Energy. Not a company I can recommend based on experience with customer support and care.

Poor customer support after installation

I have been in contact with the support team for well over a month trying to get my app to reconnect to my panels. I have done everything suggested and followed all the videos sent and can't do it myself. Have asked for a callout. Still waiting and no one has even attempted to contact me. When I ring, am told someone will get back to me. They never do and I keep having to chase them. Aftersales / customer support non existent in my opinion

J W Renewables are just the best…

J W Renewables are just the best company to deal with. They give fast, efficient and professional advice. Will came out measured up, studied our energy bills and then took the information away to calculate how many solar panels and batteries we need. Communication was extremely efficient and he explained it all very simply. There was no pressure to buy which we really appreciated. The installation was smooth and efficient. Scaffolding arrived and was dismantled exactly when he said it would be and on the day of installation the team just got on with it. Everyone had their role and the coordination was slick. It was all done in a day and again Will explained how it all worked and talked us through the app. We are highly delighted with the outcome, after the sales service is always efficient and the panels are excellent providing with cost efficient electricity. We would highly recommend J W Renewables, a really friendly, communicative and helpful team.

Worst service I have come across

Worst service I have come across. Arranged a date and time for panels to be fitted and just didn’t show up. When I called them I found out that the installer had gone to another job and didn’t bother telling anyone. Invoicing is not transparent.

Solar solution issues

Presales and ground-mount installation went well (final electrical commissioning & activation mid Sept 2024). However, a lot of debris was left onsite afterwards that we ourselves had to clear/get rid of (such as packaging, wiring, non-used & broken leftover electrical kit, lengths of unused ground-mount metal frame, etc.). In addition, unfortunately, the system has now stopped working *5* times since 20th Nov (latest edit: today is 29th Nov). It keeps tripping solar RCD on fuseboard (latest edit: most recent 2 failures occurred in quick succession earlier today 29th Nov). JFW have advised that failures may be as a result of cold weather (only possible failure due to cold would've been 1st one on 20th Nov), and that their 30mA solar RCD now needs to be changed for 100mA. For the price, a wee bit disappointed with stability/resilience of installed system thus far, as we constantly must review app to check that it's actually working at all.

Many thanks to the JFW Renewables team for incredibly professional , friendly, knowledgable and efficient service from consultation through to completion of the solar panel installation on our semi detached house. The JFW Renewables team were recommended to me and they did not disappoint. The JFW Renewables team are excellent to deal with and I have no hesitation recommending them. After sales technical support and getting any queries answered have been incredibly supportive. There was no stress or worries before, during, or after. Thank you !

They fast and efficient and easy to work with

They fast and efficient and paper work they looked after everything had a bit of a problem with slates after ward's but true to their word fixed it and couldn't be any happier bill's have reduced dramatically

Solar panels installation & grant processing.

Got solar panels installed by JFW Renewables at the beginning of April, 2024. Preinstallation information & communication was prompt & excellent. Installation was efficient, professional & non intrusive. System is working well, no glitches. It is now heading towards mid June & I have just been advised by JFW that they have just today uploaded my documentation to the SEAI website to enable final processing of the grant. This is more than 2 months after the works were completed & a full 7 weeks after the BER report was submitted to them. This is shocking aftersale service. So by all means engage JFW Renewables to install your solar panels, just hound them after the works are completed to make sure they fulfill the rest of their responsibilities to you in a timely fashion.

Excellent service from installation team. Sales team were very professional not pushy at all. Very good and quick power up ensured all was electrically compliant and worked as per the Safe Electric handbook recommend this company even with technical team in Galway.

Fantastic service and excellent…

Fantastic service and excellent customer service from all the staff at the JFW. We got 18 panels installed in Furbo,Co.Galway in April 2024 and they did a fantastic job.Excellent communication throughout. They were always in time, top notch professional work and left absolutely everything spotlessly clean inside and outside the house. The system works perfectly. Highly recommend everyone at the JFW renewables team.

From a referral from a friend , I contacted JfW and must say they were very professional from start to finish. I received loads of prices , but JFW was the only company to actually call to my house and actually survey the whole lot to see and measure to make sure it was all feasible and to maximise how many panels I could fit etc. that was sean the sales rep. The next part , which they guide you with is the whole application etc, very easy to do. I decided to go with JFW in the end , from the professional service I felt from the start with sean , but also that it was all they did all the time, they are not an electrical contractor who is dapping there feet into it now and again. This is their bread and butter. The lads (roofers) installing the panels came and did a top notch job , I’ve no water ingress what’s so ever. The electrical side of things is installed very tidy and neat and commissioning was all done by the brian & Jason and they were so good about everything , explaining everything , connecting to the app on the phone etc . I even rang them to ask questions and they always answered and happy to help. JFW - A model Customer Centric Experience

The attention to detail and Customer centric approach from start to finish was the standout for me. Pre Sales, installation and after sales technical support modelled that if much larger Organisation. The technical guys in Galway ( especially Gearoid), the electrical guys, both JFW (Donal and Shane) and external electricians plus the actual PV installers were courteous, clean and highly professional. Promises were always kept and the Customer was always put first. Cannot recommend JFW highly enough.

We are delighted with the solar panel purchase by JFW. The installation was completed in 2 visits, the solar panels and frame support first, followed by the control panel, battery and associated electric panels on the second visit a week later. As a retired project engineer, I was very pleased that the quality of the purchased items and electronics was of a very high standard which I recognised immediately. The system has been operational now for 3 months trouble free and the saving returns has exceeded our expectations. Our October ESB bill showed a 75 percent saving on our previous bill We particularly like having the solar panels positioned on a concrete plinth in a remote south facing location near to the house but not obviously there. A big plus is the use of the real time app on your phone, you are able to see the energy generated and make decisions on when to use the big energy users ie. washing machines and electric heaters etc. The purchase of a 5 kw battery to store the surplus energy is a must have to support the system and give you maximum savings returns In conclusion, initial savings would suggest a maximum payback of 5 years or less which makes solar a must have purchase Steve

I could not recommend JFW enough. From the office staff (Ola & Anton) to sales (Derick) to the roofers (Damien) to the electricans (Pat and Darrell) I could not have dealt with a nicer group of people. Management are really hiring well and it shows. It was such a pleasure to deal with them.

Fantastic experience. 6 weeks in and couldn't be happier with it. Weather had been great so it definitely works with sun light. 1,300 units created in that period. My house is East facing so have panels back and front. The service by the team installing was very efficient and just seamless. Panels look great too.

Solar Panel installation

We got 16 panels installed on our shed by the team at JFW.From start to finish we found the process very easy and very professional. The real proof in the pudding was our electricity bill which we eagerly awaited . Our first monthly ESB bill came in at 9euro followed by 4euro the following month which was was a huge shock. Its a no brainer to get solar panels. JFW highly recommended 👌

Excellent Solar PV company to deal with. The whole process was seamless, they install on dates that suit you, very tidy roofers and electricians. Very good after sales service and good videos on their website to guide you through everything from applying for the grant to how to reconnect your system to the solar pv app when you change Internet supplier. I now have constant hot water thanks to our Eddi. I went for no battery, plan to buy one down the line, but JFW reassured me it's easy to retrospectively fit a battery. Could not happier. Be warned, the solar pv app is addictive.

I had a great experience with JFW. They arranged everything. Had a good site survey with their rep. He could tell me what would fit on the roof then and there. I knew what kit I wanted and they had no problem with that. Got a very clear and itemized quote. The roofers were in and out in 3 hours installing 20 panels total. On install day the Electricians installed it exactly as I asked. There was no issues. They instructed me on the operation of the system but it works away itself! The office people uploaded all the documents for the grant promptly and that went smoothly. Received the grant about 8 weeks later. Very happy with the whole process. Highly recommended.

I waited 12months before adding a review to see how the system has performed and what the customer service experience would have been like. I can say without question this was one of the best investments i have made and JFW Renewables are excellent to deal with. They are a company that really care about their customers and go out of their way to make the whole experience work for you. I did alot of research and got alot of quotes. Installation in one day and very tidy and professional. Their is great satisfaction to see the system allow you some energy independence from about mid Feb to end of Sept allowing you to be 70% approx off grid on average. I bought EV car also and pleased with decisions so far. I went with 14panels and 10kw battery. In winter the system will still produces some kw's but you will use more grid power but with battery I can force feed a charge to EV and battery at night with off peak rate and use during the day while staying off grid. If you can't afford the battery, the panels are still worth it. The app is easy to use and allows your monitor system performance. Give this company a call and they will help you customise a system for your usage and budget and advise on grants available. The return is worth it and will continue to pay off for years to come and if there is a problem Gearoid and team are there to advise and help straight away. I have contacted them over the year just on app updates and they help straight away. Excellent customer care.

Highly recommend JFW Renewables. They did amazing job, system is up and running in effective manner. Installation was quicker then I expected. All team is great, the paperwork was submitted on time, and got a grant less than 2 months after installation. Delighted 😊

Solar System Installation in the Premier County

JFW was efficient and provided plenty of information about the system From the start to finish the staff were courteous and extremely helpful. The installation was not intrusive. The most important point is their availability to answer the phone when called. The BER inspection was conducted, grant application was processed and paid. Great company to deal with

I waited a while to post the review so as to consider ongoing performance of the system and any after-sales service I might need. I was looking for solar PV and battery backup which could function even if no mains supply were available. I already have Solar Thermal, and 3 roof-light windows on my small roof so I knew I wouldn't fit that many panels up there. I had been reading a lot online and I have to say that the JFW site has a lot more useful info there than most. I filled out the contact form on the site and I got a phone call the next day from Gearoid who came out for a look. I decided to go with JFW. I was given an accurate estimate of installation date (a rare thing!) and it was all done in one day. I had a few minor teething problems with some parts but these were sorted with little trouble. The system is in place now around 8 months, I'm saving money and except for the darkest winter day the panels will contribute a lot toward your usage. If you've the money and a decent amount of roof just do it, take back some power! Highly recommend these guys, everyone was sound and went out of their way with what/where/how to install and any queries/suggestions etc I already got a second battery and if I ever have the money for an extension I'll be calling them back for a few more panels!

Great service from the guys at JFW. Couldn't recommend them enough. The install was all completed in 1 day by the Roofing and Electrician teams. The system is working well so far and I'm looking forward to the benefits to come with the high yields I've seen so far from the system on the smart meter in what's only been a few weeks.

From our initial consultation with Gearoid right through to the installation of the Panels and Operating system I found JFW Renewables to be very professional and efficient. Gearoid is very knowledgeable about his products and explained in detail the process involved right down to the grant application. The JFW team that installed the roof panels and Battery did an excellent job with regards to installation and left everything neat and tidy after them and more important were on site when they said they would be. As for the system its self, most people hardly even notice the panels and the Operating system is neatly tucked away in the attic. Gearoid also called out after to go through the workings to ensure we got the best out of our System. I’m Very happy with everything JFW delivered and would definitely recommend them.
