Respect other peoples property

I had a service done on a heat pump by OHK Energy recently and I have to say I'm surprised in what these guys are doing in peoples homes. I said I'd mention this so other people are aware of it and does not happen to them. I explained to the guy when he first arrived that he was to use the utility room sink for any water and cleaning of items. I said to him to let me know if there is anything else you need. He went out to get a bucket and went into the utility and started to fill with water, he then helped himself to the Cabinets in the utility looking into them and getting out washing up liquid without even asking me for it. It wasn't until after all this was done I realised what had happened. Not nice having someone going through your Cabinets with out you knowing it. Also he was very keen in wanting to use our bathroom sink to empty out all the dirty water from pipes even tho I said to use the utility sink for all of that. In fact, this did happen before from the previous person that came a year ago and helped himself to our bathroom sink without me even knowing and left it extremely dirty. He also went walking around the house looking for a outdoor tap, again, never asked me. He also asked to used our toilet, luckily enough no pee on floor. Sounds very like the the person that left a review on 18 Sep 2025 by someone else and descried him as 'black haired man with a donegal accent' This was the same for me, I'm not sure how many Donegal accents guys are working for OHK Energy but sounds very like it. The guys need to have more respect for peoples personal space and belongings in homes. I definitely wont be getting OHK Energy again after this second experience.

Ohk Energy have been totally professional and supportive throughout this whole process. Everything was completed on time with all the various teams from Sales, Installers , Electricians and Admin checking in with me through all the stages. A special shout out to Ashling for her advice and support. A great experience from a great company 👍 It's a pity they are not in charge of the sunshine 😃

Very happy with my solar pv system, Ohk done a great job and made the process very simple, they looked after the SEAI grant and the BER afterwards too which was one less thing to worry about. Would recommend them to anyone looking to get solar done.

Every member of staff have been helpful, polite, knowledge, friendly and professional. They take the time to explain everything involved, to make the Solar Panel experience easy, they prioritise working with and for you, at your pace & to do things to your time table, when it suits you. They are flexible and facilitate their customers rather than "Their" schedule. No hard sell, no sign today or the price goes up ~ they have been a hugh pleasure to do business with. I had to reschedule installation on 4 different occasions Started process in Oct' 2025 For personal circumstances/reasons I wasn't in a position to have the instillation start untill Feb 2026 ~ no problem, they were there to work to my schedule. An amazing customer service. What's more, if they didn't have and answer to a question, they would check it out & always phoned back. Exceptional customer service.

Positive Experience

We recently had our solar system installed by OHK Energy and overall the experience was very positive from start to finish. The team were professional, punctual, and clearly knowledgeable about the system they were installing. Communication throughout the process was good, and the installation itself went smoothly with minimal disruption. The system was only installed recently, so we are still learning how to optimise usage, especially during winter months when generation is naturally lower. However, everything is working as expected and the supplier has been helpful in answering follow-up questions as we get familiar with the app and energy management. Installation quality and workmanship were excellent, and the setup was completed on schedule. It’s clear the team takes pride in their work. I would recommend them to anyone considering this system, particularly for the professionalism of the installation and overall service provided

The work was done in only a few hours

The work was done in only a few hours, which was great. The guys doing the work were fully professional and helpful. The Commisssioning problem was followed up on quickly (although I had to make a phone call to hasten it). So, overall I would be happy to recommend Ohk Energia to other people.

Initially, we were not happy with the service. We were woken up at 7:30 a.m. on the day of installation by workers on our roof, despite being told they would arrive at 9:00 a.m. The roof was not properly insulated once the work was completed, and wires and other materials were left around the house. Additionally, the battery stopped working after a couple of weeks due to loose wiring. While the system has worked fine since these initial issues were addressed, the overall experience means I would think twice before recommending your service to others.

Top class company, sean was excellent at explaining things and very helpful.work men where really good and left the place spotless. Would highly recommend Ohk energy to anyone thinking of getting solar panels.

poor service

Where do i start. Well after ordering 11 solar panels and a hot water diverter I remained very patient waiting for an install date. I received a call to schedule in the works, then the next day I received a call to say they needed to reschedule which I said no problem. I the received another call to re book and then after that another call to say it would just be the roofers turning up and the electrics would be done another day. It was before Xmas so I was forgiving. The roofers did turn up and to be fair did a great job putting up the panels. The electric install was booked in for 23rd December. At 8am two electricians turn up and asked if the equipment was in my house. I said no why would it be, they said the roofers should have left the inverter and other electrics here which I know is not the case. They said they were going to head off to an electric merchants to see of they could buy some parts. I was gobsmacked and to he sure they didn't return. I phoned the call centre and asked why two electricians turned up to a job without any equipment. The lady said she would get someone to phone me back and of course no one did. I sent a follow up email and this went unanswered also. I had to wait until they reopened after Xmas and again requested a call back but got no where. I ended up sending a complaint and copied in sales rep and the next day I got a call to book in the electrics. The job was done on 6th January. A week later the data logger on the inverter stopped working. I contacted the manufacturer Solis who said that the location of the inverter was not sufficient to protect the inverter from rain and direct sun light. This has damaged the data logger (they are sending me a replacement). They said that the inverter should be covered with a canopy. I have forwarded all these emails with Solis to Ohk asking if they would be installing a canopy to protect the inverter and data logger. I have sent a follow up email and still no answer. Maybe this review will spur them on. Im not sure why an inverter is put in an exposed position which if not covered by a canopy would probably void my warranty. Will wait and see what response I get. Update 31st January 2026 now the actual inverter has stopped working. Ohk still not responding to emails. They only one responding is the manufacturer Solis so hats off to them. Update 12th feb 2026. To be fair to ohk energy they came out and installed a canopy. I was also advised that the inverter is meant to power off during hours of darkness. Fingers crossed all ok now.

AVOID -Shop around!

AVOID -Shop around! This review was one I posted for JFW Renewables which was bought by OHK. All of the service issues I mentioned here are since OHK took over but they managed to distance themselves from the JFW reviews. Utterly atrocious service once the system is installed. Well over 2 years now and anytime I have had issues I either got no call back or told it will be weeks before someone can come out and that there are call out charges. All down to cheap battery powered safety devices they installed and never made us aware of. To be clear - we asked if any of what they were installing in the most inaccessible part of our attic need to be serviced and were told no. OHK dismiss the need for a smoke alarm in our attic and say it is no longer a requirement so they take no responsibility for the cheap battery device that was put there. We were never told nor was the device listed as installed on the paperwork. We bought from them before they were consumed by OHK Energy and the contracts for warranty etc now sit with OHK. God help us if we need to chase bigger warranty items. Not a company I can recommend based on experience with customer support and care.

Excellent service from all divisions of this company, would have no hesitation in recommending them. The only negative was from the sales person who gave me misleading information. I believe this was done to assign the sales to himself rather than other divisions of the same company. This inaccurate information was disappointing and unexpected.

Every step of the project was proactively managed by Ohk Energy in a pleasant and professional manner. Installation team were experienced and all work done as planned to an excellent standard. I have no hesitation recommending Ohk Energy for any solar panel installation.

The whole process from initial contact with JFW Renewables on behalf of Ohk Energy was smooth and we were informed of dates and what to expect well in advance of each step. Tommy, the initial contact was very knowledgeable and explained in a very clear manner what we could expect before, during and after installation. The teams that installed the panels and carried out the electrical were very professional, helpful and neat. We are very content with our installation and happy that we are producing energy from the panels or via the battery even on dull days.

No hassle. Work done very efficiently and cleaned up after. Now we’re waiting to see how much we’ll save with our panels. I also recommended a customer to you we were so pleased. She has had hers installed with you also

Tried to get my hotpress serviced and on a day before the service I've got a call from someone telling me that I have to give them my card details and make a full payment upfront or otherwise they will cancel the appointment. I don't feel comfortable to give my card details to someone over the phone, as well as paying for the job before its completed. Do not recommend.

Our Sigenstor Plant was installed 2 weeks ago and is working like a dream (the sunshine helps of course)! Our sales consultant, Damien Mackey, was recommended to us - his survey and questions were thorough, his information sharing was accurate and precise without being in any way 'pushy'. The scheduling team were constantly in touch with us, keeping us fully informed along the way - even managing to get us an earlier appointment. Both installation teams were neat and tidy, and pretty fast too - 2 hours for the solar panels and maybe 3 hours for the electrical install. My only regret is not opting for an additional battery!!

We had solar panels installed early July 2025. Lads arrived and had them installed and all ready for electricians the next day in no time, about 2.5hrs, 16 panels. Impressed. Left place spotless. Next day electricians arrived at 7.45am and were all done by lunchtime. Again left place spotless and they talked us through everything. Very professional. Just want to add, that we didn't have to do a thing, they did everything, appliedfor grant, contacted our electric supplier. Highly recommend OHK energy. Two of my friends also got their Solar panels from OHK and are very happy.

Had a great experience with OHK Energy in partnership with Electric Ireland. From start to finish, the whole process was smooth, fast, and professional. Ray, the sales adviser, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and the installation by Team 7 was completed to a very high standard. We recently had a 12 panel and 5KW battery solar install by OHK Energy, I would highly recommend OHK to anyone thinking of having solar installed. Their rep Stephen called to us to asses our needs and was very knowledgeable about every aspect of solar PV. He explained every aspect of how the job would be done and was able to answer any technical questions I had in relation to the equipment that they use. A couple of weeks later the guy's arrived to do the install, they were all really friendly and cleaned up after they were finished, all the guy's work for OHK and not subcontractors. The electrician went through the set-up with me and downloaded the app, and showed me how to use it. During the install two safety reps showed up to make sure everyone was working safely, very impressed!!! The install was finished at lunchtime! Our panels are south facing, the output is amazing, we have an electric car and a plug in hybrid and so far we have charged them up on solar alone! we have completely changed the way we use electricity, we now charge the cars, heat water, use the dishwasher and washing machine during the day. In seven weeks we have produced 1.2 MW of electricity! OHK 100% recommend.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They had one team out on Monday to install the panels and another out on Tuesday to connect everything up. All went very very smoothly. After installation the solar companion app works well. They are also very quick to respond to queries by phone and email
