We had our solar PV system installed several years ago and it has performed exactly as promised. The whole process was very well organised from start to finish, and the installation itself was carried out neatly and professionally. The team left everything tidy and clearly took pride in their work. What has really stood out over the years is the aftercare support, which to be honest we had very little trouble to date, any questions we’ve had have been dealt with quickly and helpfully. It’s reassuring to know the local support is still there long after installation. We would happily recommend this company to anyone considering solar.

We live near Castlemartyr, we called them, Mark came for a technical visit and explained what they provide and recommended. We received a proposal with all the explanations required, estimations on production, specifications for panels, mounts, battery, everything. No pressure to close, excellent answers to all our questions, making us feel very safe. They managed the process for the grant for us. We had to apply and share our details. When they finally came (it took a while due to rain and installation list), the service was done by very experienced roofers, scaffolding went up in no time, and support structures were in place in a day. In the next visit, the panels and electrics were installed, and everything was explained to us. The place was left clean, our grass was protected with boards to avoid damaging it, overall a class service! We were kept in the loop all the time. Not a budget option, but definitely recommend them. It's value for money, quality of install, and peace of mind.

Excellent company. They checked out the home and advised us what might be the best for us. They kept us informed as they acquired the the materials. They they came up and worked hard and safe. The erection of our 18 panels, battery and systems took 1 day. N.B. I had a look at it again today and nothing is rusting, nicely tidied up. Also saw how "tidy" the roof tiles were cut and put in place. All the skills required were used. When the storm occured earlier in the year we had electricity stored in the battery.

From the initial consultation, they took the time to understand my needs and concerns. The staff were friendly, patient, and answered all my questions with clarity, making sure I felt comfortable with my decision to go solar and I truly appreciated the absence of any high-pressure sales tactics, that I experienced with most other companies I quoted. They were very transparent and explained to me that they will arrive on an agreed date and explained, their own roofers will install the panels on the roof taking two days and then approximately two weeks later their own electricians will come and hook everything up. Once the installation day arrived as agreed the Southern Solar Electrical team was prompt, professional, and incredibly efficient. They arrived on time and worked diligently to ensure everything was installed perfectly, they were extremely mindful of their own workmanship took great pride in their work. They carefully explained every step of the process and took the time to walk me through how the system works and how to monitor my energy production. Now that my solar panels are up and running I have great peace with the massive warranty provided with 15 year battery & inverter warranty (best warranty I could find)and the panels 25 year product and 30 year performance warranty. I installed a 7.92kw Solar PV Array with a 5kw Qcells Core Hybrid Inverter & 6.86kWh Qcells Battery, 18 Qcells panels (8 South facing and 10 South West facing) Overall, I couldn't be happier with my decision to partner with Southern Solar Electrical for my solar installation. We had our installation done with Southern Solar Cork and we couldn’t be happier with it. From start to finish they were extremely professional to deal with. All paper work was done seamlessly and any questions we had afterwards they were on hand to answer. Frances was particularly helpful and extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of our system. The roofers were excellent and highly experienced and Mark and the electrical team were also fantastic to deal with and they went above and beyond with testing everything and ensured our car charger was set up to solar harvest. Another major positive was the change over switch they offer to be able to use our battery in a power outage which many other quotes we got didn’t include. We went with the premium system Qcells Qhomecore as it had a larger battery, option to add more down the line and a 15year warranty which again was something we felt couldn’t be beaten. We have already saved so much on our bills and it’s only been up and running for a few weeks. Best decision we ever made for our home, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company.

Our experience with Southern Solar Electrical, Castmartyr has been excellent throughout. We began with John visiting our home and advising us on how to proceed. We got quotes from other installers also but were impressed by the battery size and quality, the proposed time frame and value for money offered. Cliona and Frances put through our initial paperwork and talked us through our application process. The work was carried out, very expertly, by the Roof Panel team followed, 4 days later, by the Electrical team. We were up and running instantly. Even with the winter sun in early March. The battery and inverter are neatly installed in a small office to the front of our home. We returned to Cliona and Frances for support as we learned to maximise our system using the Q.Ommand App. Next came the Ber rating appointment. With our cert issued very efficiently Southern Solar submitted the final piece of the jigsaw for our SEAI grant. It's in our account now about 9 weeks later. We are delighted with the installed system and really pleased with the service we have received.

We recently had an EV charger installed and the whole process was easy and straightforward. I visited their shop and Mark provided excellent advice on what would work best for me. Later that day, he came to our property and assessed the best installation options. Exactly two weeks later, the charger was installed cleanly, connected to our WiFi, and all necessary paperwork was provided. Cliona was also very helpful, walking us through the entire process and providing additional information on the SEAI grant. If I ever decide to install solar panels, I won’t hesitate to contact Southern Solar Electrical again.

I am very happy with my Solar System from Southern Solar.  Mark and his team installed 16 Panels and a Qcells system. From the first call and first site visit, Mark explained the process clearly and gave me some helpful advice and was available when I had any questions.  The team’s work was clean and efficient. I saved 60% on my first electricity bill. That’s incredible when you also consider that I had also just installed a Tumble Dryer, which is in daily use. I am so glad I decided to install Solar, and I’m even happier I went with Mark & Southern Solar. I would highly recommend this business.

An Amazing Company, with a really hard working team

Just had a Zappi EV charger fit at home by Mark and Brian and I have to say since day one of me contacting Southern Solar they've been very professional and great with communications, I always knew what was happening with my order. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Very happy with my charger!

Mark installed a Zappi EV Charger with solar compatibility and it was a great experience. Charger was installed within 4 days of me giving the go ahead. Mark's communication is amazing - he is back on forth really quickly on WhatsApp for whatever questions you have and is quick to solve any queries you come across as you get used to your new system. The customer service is fantastic, he has a great personal touch to how he goes about his business. It gives you great confidence if you ever have any issues with the technology down the line. Would highly recommend him!

Installed a 5.46kw system (14 x 390w Q-Cell) with the completed system up and running in a week. Thorough installation on roof along with integral check of existing wiring throughout garage and dwelling. Southern Solar team were excellent to deal and work with. 15kw (fine days) and ~9kw (cloudy days) daily output the last 4 weeks of Dec/Jan which will significantly climb as angle of sun adjusts along with longer days ahead. Obliged me with additional fixes and installs on request including generator socket on house. Apart from the obvious saving on Electricity used during the day I am looking forward to the rebate coming in June for any excess sent back to the grid. Couldn't recommend this company enough and they offer very competitive quotes. I hope to update this review in 12 months with overview of units generated.

if u had told me 12 months ago that i would have solar panels on my roof i would have said your mad. what i can say is it was one of the decisions i have made for 8 months of the year i have most of my hot water and electricity needs met by the system mark from southern solar installed for me. when mark set up his solar business in Castlemartyr it took me some time to find out what it was all about but one day when walking the dogs i met mark and he explained how the system works and i could not shake the idea from my mind. From giving mark the go ahead to install the system he made ever thing so easy applying for the SEAI grant to getting permission from the ESB it was a stress free experience and i cant recommend him highly enough. Before this review gets to long i would just say that myself and mark are still friends to this day and he will often message me to see how the system is doing u cant say that about many business today. mark takes pride in his work and it shows if u are considering getting solar panels installed give mark a call u wont be disappointed.
