I am 3 weeks waiting for a simple refund from Electric Ireland Superhomes. With little communication from anyone, the phone number on there website doesn't ring so you cannot contact them that way. They don't respond to emails, the only way of contacting them is by sending an email requesting a phone call. I would not recommend using these at all. Just to update I am now 5 weeks on and still no refund, of €250. This correspondence is still next to none. They want you to jump through all these loop holes to try and receive a refund. I have completed all the steps and still nothing.
Great job done by Martin O'Reilly and his Greenwatt team, I was lucky to have them, they were diligent, professional, timely and did a quality job. Reliable and helpful support from Dylan and the Electric Ireland project management team, they kept me well informed of the process. Ultimately, I have an A1 BER house and I don't know myself with a cosy and comfortable house, and no more worries about high energy bills.
Fantastic job. Very professional. House heating and electric bill is very low now. Beat expectations! Thanks to Matthew Gilligan and the team!
This company is extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with.
Great experience with Electric Ireland when we refitted our home. Helped us make the most of grants available to achieve an A1 rating from a previous F BER rating for a 1950s house. Good communication from the company who helped us complete our project with our builder in under the 6 months projected timeframe
From start to finish I have to say that engaging with Electric Ireland Superhomes was a really good decision. They made the process of getting a full energy assessment on our home so easy and the report was both in-depth and accessible outlining all our options around upgrades in different steps. The consultation afterwards with Ruta and Martin was very helpful and they were able to answer all our questions. This is the second time we have used Electric Ireland's One Stop Shop as previously we had solar panels installed and again a seamless and easy process. We would definitely recommend to anybody thinking of upgrading their homes.
They forgot to apply for a grant that we paid them to organise and then they have not responded to multiple emails asking them to explain how this happened.
Made the process clear with potential cost laid out in advance, no pressure selling, great after service and snagging to ensure job was finished to a high standard
Electric Ireland Superhomes were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They held our hand through the entire process, were always available to answer queries and communicated well with us and the contractor throughout the build. They made the entire process so easy for us and we now have a wonderfully cosy, energy efficient home. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
While there are number of decent / nice people working for Superhomes, I am super disappointed with the level of service from the company. They seem completely unable to deliver promised services. I requested a survey before and it took months to get the report, despite the property being a simple country bungalow. After moving to Dublin and seeing an offer at the Ideal Home Show in early April, I gave them another shot at a survey for the Dublin House (1905 redbrick). After an initial engineer survey in late April, everything ground to a halt. They could not seem to work out how to move forward. It was as if they had zero experience of supporting customers with pre-1970's properties (e.g. different insulation requirements). A builder final did a pricing survey in mid July but no report and/or estimate had issued a month later. When I asked for an update, I received apologies but no timeline for completion. I strongly urge you to consider alternatives for any retrofit project and don't make my mistake of being fooled by a discount and "Electric Ireland" in the company name.
I was introduced to EIS through the builder All in all they were efficient and got the job done , mostly the staff I dealt with were helpful except the administrator who was particularly difficult to deal with from the start, thankfully toward the end of the job I didn’t need to communicate with her at all.
It's like I have a new home at a completely improved comfort level. The professionalism shown and the and ease that my home was transformed made the process and enjoyable one.
Me and my wife had a really helpful consultation with a lovely lady Kathleen. She gave us great advice and explained everything to us in great detail. She was thoroughly pleasant to deal with. She gave us a referral architect who we now have engaged with. Our project won't be ready for another year or so but we'll be back to her.
Initial contact was positive and follow up survey was completed in a professional manner by their surveyor. Following that the whole experience has been frustrating and disappointing in the extreme. I had to fight to get my assessment report which the engineer sent on prior to leaving the company. I have since sent a number of E-mails to David Flannery and cc'd Electric Ireland Superhomes and also S.E.A.I. without even the courtesy of a reply or acknowledgement. I have been left in the wilderness. My advice to any prospective clients is to not part with your cash for the initial survey because that is as far as you will get. No BER, no contractor visit and no response to attempted follow up communications.
Incredibly disappointed- paid for a survey which was carried out - have not received the report- have not been able to contact them since although I have emailed and called several times
I had an Initial call with a consultant who insisted on an insulation strategy which was impractical, expensive and which would provide little benefit. No survey was conducted, the strategy was based on assumptions. The consultant outlined that the process could not proceed unless I agreed to the strategy outlined. We were unable to get past this point.
Have received an excellent service from Electric Ireland Superhomes and namely Ms. Sarah O' Connell so far. From initial discussions to on-site meetings, I have found Ms. O' Connell to be quite diligent, professional & knowledgeable on all things retrofit. Sarah has always made herself available to speak with myself or contractors, often at short notice to discuss the service in detail and has managed the process so far with a high level of professionalism and integrity. As you can appreciate, receiving such a level of service has removed some of the pressures that comes with home renovations. I have every confidence that this will continue until the construction is complete. Tony Wallace
Very proactive and are working with us and a contractor who is doing non SEAI work to help us maximize the grants. Like others found it hard to get 'in' with them but once we did found them great to deal with
Avoid if you don’t want to be led on. Initial call with offer to assist with retrofit then chasing them for months with not even the decency to reply to calls, emails or messages even if only to let you know they are no longer able to assist you. Shocking customer service.
Avoid I’d say - did initial call, but then went dead, similar to another review I read. Always get suspicious when a company goes dead. Even at the time the consultation call wasn’t particularly insightful or energetic with no details about costs / technical options etc. I hedged my bets and engaged an alternative provider and this week just decided to sign off on a full retrofit in next 3 months. So “Buyer Beware”, and don’t be fooled because Electric Ireland is in the name.
