I recently had a home consultation with The Energy Centre regarding solar panels, and unfortunately the experience left me both disappointed and uncomfortable. The representative was polite and took me through the system and pricing. However, I was presented with two quotations: a standard price and a second price that was over €4,000 lower. I was told that the discounted price was only available if I made a decision there and then, during the visit. As this is a significant financial investment, I explained that I was not in a position to make an immediate decision and would need time to consider the information and do my own research. Out of curiosity, I asked how many customers are actually able to commit to such a large purchase on the spot. I was told that many people do, and when I expressed surprise, the conversation took an uncomfortable turn. I was told that most people know to do their research in advance and, “no harm to you being South African,” but that most Irish people understand that when a salesperson visits their home, a decision is expected on the day. I found this comment inappropriate and unnecessary. It felt dismissive and implied that I was uninformed. I also found the sales approach of offering a substantial discount only for an immediate decision to be high-pressure and not in keeping with the level of trust and consideration that should accompany a major home investment. I believe customers should be given time to make informed decisions without pressure, and cultural assumptions have no place in a professional consultation. Based on this experience, I would encourage others to be aware of the company’s sales approach before booking a consultation.

Absolutely great service by the staff
Absolutely great service by the staff, cannot fault the service in any way whatsoever. From my first phone call to the last. Exceptional
Reviews on Google aren't great, pressured into an appointment at the door trying to get out to go somewhere. I dont trust trust pilot reviews on any company only google reviews
Used the Energy Centre to service and repair our solar thermal panels. Very professional on the phone, prompt call out the following day and all round a great service. Was reluctant to call based on recent negative reviews, but wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for the professionalism and timeliness.
Awful experience
Awful experience. From the actual air source heat pump being installed incorrectly to then having to battle to get it fixed, kept blaming me, even though later admitted a valve hadn’t been turned all the way round. Awful to deal with, soon as grant is paid very hard to get hold of akd communication awful.
It says a lot about a company when instead of relying on reputation they just spam everyone with letters constantly. I've asked them a few times to stop sending letters, but the spam keeps on coming. I would suggest everyone boycott this company until they stop spamming the population.
After sales service leaves a lot to be desired
They talk a good talk when selling to you and yes you have to sign up there and then if you want the discounts. I was initially impressed with the company’s installation process—efficient, neat, and professional. However, I am disappointed by the lack of adequate after-sales support, which has caused unnecessary frustration and wasted time. When my inverter went offline, I was provided with a video and a leaflet for reconnection. While the leaflet was included in the initial pack, I was not informed of its relevance during installation. Unfortunately, my reconnection was not straightforward, and despite multiple calls (and sending them pictures showing them the problem) I was repeatedly told that the matter would be looked into. The following day, I was assured that an engineer would call me back within “a few minutes” to guide me through the process. However, I never received any call, and after several hours of troubleshooting, I eventually managed to resolve the issue myself. I find this level of service unacceptable. The company presents itself well during the sales process, the after-sales support is severely lacking. I find this level of service unacceptable and not in line with the standards I expected from my initial dealings with the Energy Centre.
Cost effective, fantastic service, wonderful installation team
We found the service that was provided was excellent. The team involved in installing the system from the Energy Centre were fantastic. They answered all our questions thoroughly and were very easy to deal with. We are extremely happy with our new Solar Panel system. It is very cost effective and reduces our electricty bills considerably. We can highly recommend The Energy Centre to anyone who is interested in getting this wonderful system installed. Thank you for the fantastic service The Energy Centre, Duleek, Co. Meath.
Thoroughly professional and friendly!
I thought that the whole process from start to finish was handled really well by the company. They were not only thoroughly professional, but were very friendly with it too!

Everyone from 1st point of contact to completion were courteous, well informed and very skilled in their area of expertise. Job was completed and commissioned with minimum of fuss or disruption and in a timely manner.
Fitting bypass switch
The sales, installation and post installation support are superb. However, you were not able to help me with fitting of a bypass switch to use my battery power during power cuts (which are frequent here in the countryside).
Very professional
Very professional, experienced, clean and tidy, great backup.
Excellent job
Very tidy installation both inside and out. Engineers understood the requirements very well and execution was excellent. Highly recommended!
Happy customers
Communication excellent. Clean tidy workers. Speedy resolving of an issue despite distance from company location. Help with all necessary paper work including grant application. Good value
entire experience from start to finish great
Shane - the rep who did assessment for how many solar panels we needed & explained how the system works for us and the process was great he went through everything answered all our queries didn't put any pressure on us even after offering the discount for putting the sign up on our house he gave us 24 hours to decide we decided before he left the house and had paid the deposit the second rep the inspector was nice but he asked how old the house was but didn't check if we had a rcd protection switch which meant when the guys who put the solar panels up realised this they said the electricians wouldn't be able to connect the panels until we had one fitted this could have cost us a delay of a couple of weeks but the electrician we contacted had a cancellation and got it fitted in a couple of days I think this is something the inspector should check because it cost an extra few hundred euros and extra time I also know someone who rang for a quote after speaking to us was told he had 2 hours to decide if he was going ahead with the installation and he wasn't getting any discount so he decided not to have panels installed because of that rep
Installation was fast and efficient
Installation was fast and efficient, very professional from start to finish, all points of contact from sales rep, lady in office and installers was very polite and friendly, very happy with my experience with The Energy Centre, would definitely recommend them 5 ⭐️ service.
Full information prior
Full information prior, during and post installation. Proficient in every aspect of their business
Great company to deal with …
The company were very helpful from the beginning after contact with them There office staff and ground staff were very friendly and helpful and if the said the would ring you back they always replied All paper work and grant application was done to perfection The ground staff were always on time and very friendly and work done to a high standard
The lads were very efficient
The lads were very efficient. You wouldn't know they were here even, so neat and tidy. Stephen went through everything with me pre installation. Savings are unreal and by far eclipses our repayments. I'd highly recommend The Energy Centre for sure. We got a 14 panel system with a battery for our 1500 sq ft detached house
Efficient
Clean, friendly workers and efficient service
Honestly. I don't think theres much to review... after posting notices through my letter box for months I finally said sure this is worth a shot so I filled out the contact form, posted it back and waited. I get a call to discuss setting up an inspection and i'm immediately told that because my bills are so low, there is no point in installing solar in my property. What about selling back to the grid so I can make a bit of money back to it. Nope. The rep had no interest. I the phone call lasted a grand total of 2 minutes 13 seconds. I'd say they have an absolute shred of work if they can just blow off interested customers like that. If I could give less than 1 star, i would
Weird. Had a rep call to the door and ask did I want an appointment for an assessment, when I said yes, he asked did I have a partner and said my partner would have to be there for the assessment (even thought I own the property) - why does a man have to be there even if he is nothing to do with the decision?? Found this very strange and a little intimidating, why was this company at my front door fishing to know if there was a man here or if a man would be here when the assessment went ahead and then REFUSE to do an assessment unless a man is present! I am in stitches laughing here! I know what my decision is anyway so don't bother send a man to find out! LOL
The Energy Centre crew turned up when…
The Energy Centre crew turned up when they said they would, and completed the installation in good time. They left my property neat and tidy when finished. The system seems to be working satisfactorily.
We have our system up and running since February and each month just gets better and than the last. I'm sure it will start to slow down as we come to the winter but cannot complain about it all year. The team at The Energy Centre were an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Thanks Wayne.
The rep that called to us with his pitch was professional and really nice but the guys who did the work were NOT they were in a rush and damaged a unit in my hall, tried to hide it and said they would stick the piece back on!! No apology or accountability There was a huge hole in my wall from the inside. Said they patched it up but lied. When we complained I felt Stephen tried to defend them “never had a complaint before” paid for the damage but made us feel like we were difficult customers. I cannot recommend them
I had an appointment for an assessment of my home for solar panels. On the morning of, they had to cancel because their rep had an emergency. Fair enough. They promised to reschedule as soon as possible and took some times I'd be free. I was promised they'd be back in touch straight away. That was more than a month ago. Want to guess if they've contacted me even once? I'll be going with another company and I will NOT be recommending them to anyone who asks me. Edit; yes I used a different name, this happened to be the account I was logged into when I decided I'd waited long enough for you. How many people do you cancel appointments day of?
Seven years ago I installed the hot water panels and they have been working a treat. The Rep. from the Energy Centre informed me that if I got 7 referrals I would be refunded all my costs. I got the 7 referrals and received a full refund. How good is that. In January 2004 I had the Electric Solar Panels installed by the Energy Centre and within three months I had 7 referrals again and received a full refund from the Energy Centre. I don't know of any other company that has such a great promotion as the Energy Centre. The Company Engineers are highly efficient and leave the house as they found it, clean and tidy. I would highly recommend the Energy Centre and will continue to promote them, not forgetting the friendly Rep. Wayne Leonard.
Have our Solar PV system in since October and are very impressed by the results. Our electricity bills have reduced and are gone completely in the summer months. The installation was simple and the lads did a lovely neat job. Highly recommend.
I got a system installed by the energy centre late 2022 and decided I'd wait to see how well it performed before leaving a review. So far the system has exceeded my expectations and has produced over 6000kwh over a year and has saved me lots of money on my electricity bill. The install was neat and looks great. Would have no problem recommending this company for a solar system as everything was as described by the sales person who I had my initial consultation with.
These used to be a great company. 11 years ago the did work in my house with boilers and radiatiors which was top notch. This year when I decided to get solar panels I went straight to them. I was sorry to see they have now become rip off merchants and bullies. A salesman came to my house at my request and we discussed a job and a price. Then I was disappointed to be told that the price was only valid if I agreed to the work being done within an hour. Otherwise it increased by €5000. I don't appreciate this kind of tactic. I have since agreed a price with a different company who aren't bullies and it was SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper for the same thing. Energy centre have gone from being the first company on my list to not even being there. Such a shame what they have become
I've waited a year before writing this review, to be sure that the solar heating worked as advertised. It certainly did and we have no regrets. We did have a problem recently and requested a service. The response was quick and the service technician, Paul, was quick to identify the problem, which was a component failure (fair enough). He replaced the part, recharged the system and checked the overall installation to ensure everything was in proper operation before he left. Very happy with the professional response.
We had our Solar System installed by the Energy Centre and are extremely happy with the end result. Constant hot water throughout the day. They were professional from 1st visit to final installation. Only regret is not having this done sooner. Team working in our home could not have been more helpful and left the house as clean as they found it.
I was looking to have solar tube water heating system fitted and was recommended to contact the energy center, which I did. I found my initial contact very informative and within a couple of days I had a gentleman call to assess my home, he covered the installation, the cost, the grant and the process. I was happy to proceed and very shortly after the crew arrived prompt at 8am as was promised they worked for the day and completed by 6pm, they were extremely efficient and tidy they went through the system with me, they even built new shelves in my hotpress. Shortly after I realized my on-suit shower wasn't working on hot, I contacted the company and they sent out a plumber and he concluded it was a valve in my shower head (nothing to do with their system) and he ordered the part and fitted it a week later. I know I have gone on a bit, but I would Highly Recommend the company and the system as my water has been hot since without having to use gas.
We had our system installed this week. Great job all round. From day one dealing with the company rep, the engineer and the lads who came out to install the system it was dealt with so professionally. Can't recommend this company highly enough. Big job that took a full day and the house was left spotless when they finished.
The energy installed a whole new heating system in my home with a new boiler and Solar panels on the back of my house. I have to say that the service we received was 2nd to none. The customer service was excellent and the staff were so friendly to deal with. A Sales Rep came to my house and reviewed my current system, he explained everything that needed to be done but also gave options on what I could do and what best suited me from an affordability point of view. On the day of the installation, I came home from work and the team of plumbers were just finishing up in the house. To be honest I initially wondered if they done anything at all. The house was spotless and you wouldn't of even know that they had been in. The explained how the system worked and gave me the contact details of the office should I have any problems. I have to say, since the system was installed I haven't had one problem. The whole house is zoned so I can just heat what I want to heat up and what not to. The house is unbelievably cozy since I'd had the system installed and I have noticed a considerable saving in my oil bills too. I have to take my hat off to the Energy Centre for the service the provided me and I would definitely encourage people to use this service should they be thinking of upgrading or installing a new heating system.
Had heating system installed two and a half years ago. The nicest lads you could deal with. We had a few problems but these were sorted without any hassle. Had a problem this week spoke with one of engineers on phone again very helpful and chap arrive this afternoon to do the work I asked the cost of the job he thought it may be covered Phoned the office spoke to one girl there who wasn't sure and very polite and said I would get call back Well girl who called back should be sent on course on how to deal with customer Yes you have got to pay your system was installed 2014 So you have to pay for boiler service. I explained I don't have problem paying but didn't have boiler service Now she checks again yes there us a charge I again told her I had no problem paying and gave her card details Made to feel as if I didn't want to pay which wasn't the case
