From the moment I met the guys from start solar to the completion of the installation was seam less. I had made an appointment with Andrew, called up to my house and told me the best places to mount the solar panels, then explained all the pros of solar and how it all worked. Any questions I asked were all answered very professional and with full explanations. These guys knew there stuff and I felt very comfortable to place an order there and then. About 8 weeks later my instal was arranged. The guys showed up around 8am - I went onto work and came back home at 4.30pm and the electrician was onsite just finishing up. I assumed they had to come the next day to finish, however they had everything done and dusted, and cleaned up. All my batteries and inverters was put up so tidy and out of the way in the attic. They explained all to me, downloaded the apps to my phone and showed me how to use the new car charger. The icing on the cake for me was the phone call from start solars head office around 15mins after the engineer has left. Follow up phone call to check that everything was done as it should be and what would happen moving forward. Total professional service from the time Andrew walked down my driveway until the engineer walked back up it again with the job complete. I would recommend having a chat with these guys even if you’re considering this for 6 months or a year down the line. Super helpful and professional with no pressure to buy their product.

Can’t recommend the team at Start Solar enough. From site survey to installation everything was clear and simple.

16x panel + 2x batteries + competitive price = FANTASTIC!! I reached out to Start Solar as recommended by a colleague. My initial contact was with their MD who was incredibly knowledgeable and forward leaning. The process from initial visit to installation was seamlessly, keeping me up to date with the progress throughout, with the installation taking less than a day. The end result is a fantastic, neat installation of the batteries to the exterior wall, coupled with the user friendly app to track power generation. For what you are getting you will not find a battery price and service. Keep up the good work and best wishes going forward.

We had our solar system installed about two weeks ago by Start Solar and the whole process has been really straightforward. Any questions we had between ordering and installation were answered quickly and clearly. Suzie came out to our home and explained everything really well, which made the decision much easier. The installation team were efficient, clean and tidy, and talked us through what they were doing as they went. The app is also great and has already made us much more aware of our electricity use. Overall, a very positive experience so far.

StartSolar system and install

I obtained several quotes for my solar system and although StartSolar was not the cheapest for the spec of system I am glad I went with them. Installed without a hitch, very happy with system.

Very professional service

Very professional service, staff lovely, shout out to Ryan and James for being so patient. Andrew has a wealth of experience and knowledge which was very helpful when deciding what type of system to put in. The guys who came out to do the work were all very respectful and really friendly which always helps.

My solar experience

Initially the sales and organisation of installation seemed to go well but that is where things started to go wrong . The communication between my sales person and the workmen was very poor which resulted in mistakes being made and delay s. I am now 7months down the line but I still haven’t had the bird proofing completed which I was not offered at the time and I believe I should have been .I now have birds nesting under the panels which is a big problem .Numerous calls to head office and my original sales person has not resolved this

Excellent Job

I would highly recommend Solar Start. The process was seamless from start to finish, completed professionally and to a high standard. Response to queries has been swift and every member of staff a pleasure.

Poor service

Start solar ireland. There were a few glitches between quote and installation but nothing major. However they failed to register us as a provider and have not fully righted the situation. The fault is clearly theirs. Disappointing and frustrating that they are not engaging to address their negligence.

no after sales service

After 5 years my system still doesnt work correctly. Inverter has never provided correct information since install and they have no intention of fixing it instead blaming the supplier of the inverter. Stupidly bought additional batteries off them last year as they offered a good price. Surprisingly they have never worked correctly since installation, at the start they would randomly drop up to 20% of their charge, eventually not charging beyond 20%. still waiting on some sort of fix after constant calls to them. Again they are blaming the battery supplier, seems to be a pattern were its not their fault so not their problem. Never have i been called back, probably in the hopes they could avoid fixing it.

Recently just got solar panels done and can say absolutely pleased with the whole team from start to finish . Very professional and good workmen and workwoman lol . Thanks Andrew for all your help with my annoying questions which you answered . Can’t wait to see my bills come down !!!! Hi Start Solar provided an excellent service the installers Fergal and John were great lads and very good at what they did. The system is working well and the cabling etc is all neatly installed. Would thoroughly recommend and have done so to friends and family.

Start Solar where a pleasure to deal with when we got a 14 panel PV system installed a couple of weeks ago. We got straight forward advice from Andrew on what we needed and their installation team was exceptional. Arrived within 5 minutes of the appointed time, had the panels on by lunchtime and the system up and running by 4pm. Did a very neat and tidy job and everyone on the team was pleasant and efficient while doing it. No hesitation in recommending this company if you are looking for PV.

Great company to deal with, very neat and clean install, installation lads very friendly and professional. Zaffy sales rep explained everything was great to deal with, have pv system up and running now 2 weeks and its have exceeded my expectations, I should have done it years ago. Thanks guys

Start Solar have been a pleasure to deal with from the initial enquiry to the installation of our PV setup they have been professional, prompt and pleasant. Despite my initial scepticism that the installation would only take a day - the team arrived within 5 minutes of the advised time, had the panels mounted on the roof by lunchtime and the system up and running by 4pm! No hesitation in recommending Andrew and his team if you are looking at solar PV.

From the very start I spoke to a sales man called Zaffy and he talked me through the whole process of solar panels and gave me all the advice I needed he was genuine and very obliging as i wasn't the easiest to deal with,the day of installation all the lads were really nice and professional and done a excellent tidy job, they made sure before they left i was set up using the app and explained everything,im delighted I chose Start Solar for my solar panels and would strongly advise anyone looking for solar installation to give these lads a shout

From start to finish I found Zaffy and his team extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I had so many questions. I've learned loads throughout the process and always felt no question was too silly to not be answered. On the installation day everything went so well. The crew were efficient and friendly. I felt I received a very personal service and would highly recommend the team. For anyone still unsure how to proceed with Solar, you will be guided through the process at a pace that you can work with to achieve the best result for your home and your pocket.

Absolutely appalling service and zero communication between installers and house inspect

Absolutely appalling service. The house was inspected and where the panels and where the Eddi was to be installed was agreed. When installers arrived, the agreed installation didn’t happen. The Eddi was installed inside the hot press even though I was told this was against regulation. The work couldn’t be certified as we didn’t have an RCD installed on the fuse board. We weren’t told upon inspection that this was needed. got this installed but we’ve yet to get a date for certification or a BER certified even though I’ve contacted them four times in the last week. I’ve been told each time that I’d receive a call back within the hour. No contact. What’s worst is that our hot water tank is leaking since installation. Start solar are aware of this but zero communication. We’re petrified our ceiling are going to come through! NEVER AGAIN

Got the solar PV system in (14 panels, 5kW battery, 3.6kW inverter and Eddi water heater) just about 1 week and we're really pleased with the results. Thus far our draw from the grid is mostly zero and it's been relatively cloudy too. Installation went really smoothly, was a neat tidy job, and the installers and office folks couldn't have been more helpful. Calculated payback for the system is ~3.5 years, but with 25+ years warranty on the panels and 12 years on the battery at that point it's a long period of free energy and is frankly, a total no-brainer! That's especially true as we have a plug-in hybrid vehicle also so great savings there too! Can't recommend enough!

Start Solar were excellent at guiding us through all the options we had when it came to adding solar and a battery to our house. From the initial phone chat with Suzie, to our assessment with Andrew, we were confident we had picked the right business to work with. I was particularly keen to ensure that the installation was neat and fitted in well with the existing design of the house, which is where Damien and the install team did such an excellent job. I've been so happy the whole process - we have not imported any electricity from the grid since the install one month ago (in fact we are now exporting!). Would highly recommend.

Pain free experience

I had 16 Solar panels totally 7.12Kw (10 on front roof, 6 on back) installed on 30 Jul along with 2x 5Kw batteries. I was very surprised that only 2 guys turned up as I was expecting a huge crew considering the work. The two guys were tidy, polite & had the install finished & handed over by lunch time. Can’t fault them. The initial consultation with Andrew was also quick & painless & he messaged the evening of the install to check I was happy with how the guys had worked & behaved while at my house. The install was delayed due to the bank taking FOREVER to get the loan sorted but once the money had arrived in my account the install was complete within 2 weeks. System is generating away, charging my EV, running the house & exporting a little which is impressive since it’s been cloudy & wet since the install. Would definitely recommend Start Solar to friends looking Solar in Northern Ireland.

Brilliant service from start to finish. The whole solas panel, battery and converter was explained well. Everything was placed and fitted with minimal disruption to me. These guys know their stuff and just got on with it from the starting block to the finish line. I knew the basics about going solar but since being fitted I have learned so much more. It is definitely worth it, hassle free and financially rewarding on your fuel bill - always a bonus.

Andrew and team at start solar made the experience of getting solar energy into our home flawless.there workmanship was first class 👏. And all our questions were answered. Start solar install team arrived , fitters and electricians, very knowledgeable and competent. Clean and tidy . Guys explained in detail how my system worked and how to get the best efficiency from it. Well pleased

We'd been thinking of getting solar panels installed for a number of years, but just hadn't gotten around to doing anything about it.....until now! The team at Start Solar installed 17 panels, battery storage, and EV charger and water heater a few weeks ago, and we're addicted to watching the APP showing the energy being harvested from the sun and locked into the battery for use during the day. Our electric bills are high, working from home, electricity is in constant demand. Since the installation, we've used practically no electricity, and we anticipate a payback from the system within 4 to 5 years. The inverter and battery were installed in the roof space, leaving the wall space in the garage free. The water heater was installed in the Hot Press, and heats the domestic hot water supply when the battery is charged (but you can divert the energy directly to the water heater at will if needed rather than it going directly to the battery). The APPs that track the electricity generation are easy to use, and the system takes care of itself with no intervention needed once set up. We'd highly recommend the Team at Start Solar for your solar journey. Suzie and the Team are based locally (in N. Ireland), and are readily contactable should you need any guidance.

I had Suzie out in April to give me a quote for solar panels after the company did a presentation in my work place. I had been interested for some time but during the presentation it sounded as if it had become more affordable than when I first started looking. Suzie designed a system for us after doing a survey and looking over our electric bill for the year. I opted for 16 panels, inverter, 5kw battery and the Eddi hot water controller. The system was installed at the start of June. The installers were very professional, no wires visible and the system is hidden away. Within just a couple of hours the system was fully functional. I notice that there have been a few miserable days where it didn’t quite cover our electricity usage but most days it covers all of our needs and we also export plenty back to power Ni. Very happy with the system and Start Solar so far.

Start solar were very quick to reply with any enquiries I had and explained everything well. The company have a good reputation and came in with a very competitive price. The systems they use come with a fantastic warranty too. It's been now two months since I had the system installed and I am very happy with it. I know if I run into any issues down the line, this company will still be around.

To I say my experience with this company was positive does not cover it. Have been considering.Solar for some time but as we have a 3 storey South East facing house did not think it would be viable with fiscally or logistically.. Having spoken to a number of companies that did indeed seem to be the case, even if they would consider an installation given the height of the roof I was getting the impression I was being offered an “off the peg” package when I wanted it tailored to me .Andrew from Start Solar gave me that, face to face meeting to answer my many many questions, gave me confidence in dealing with this company. Installation agreed, installed Tuesday the 13 of May 2025 (3 days ago) by an amazing team, seeing the benefits already. Highly recommended!

We recently had Andrew out to talk us through having solar panels installed at our house and within weeks had a fully installed system. From initial interaction, through installation and beyond I can only commend Start Solar for their professionalism, efficiency and transparency. I had done some research prior to meeting Andrew and he was very tuned in to my requirements and expectations and determined a setup best suiting my needs. We have an all electric house so solar generation will assist us massively in reducing bills and that was considered throughout. The installers and electrician where out within weeks and had panels and battery installed within a few hours. They were very clean, tidy and efficient and took time throughout to check I was happy with positioning and to give an overview of what they were doing, how it worked and things I needed to be aware of. Start Solar also have a very open door approach to after sales and whilst I have had no issues and thus need to contact them, I have decided I want an additional battery (something we did discuss at inception as a potential add on) and was able to arrange this with minimal effort. Great company, highly recommended.

We had a great experience with Start Solar. We got a survey done, with suggestions as to the layout of the panels and position of inverter, battery and car-charger. Everything was clear and well presented. The prices were very competitive. I went for 5kW of panels and a 5kWh battery. The installation was fast, efficient and neat. They sent a team of two men - one is a roofer who fits the panels, and the other is an electrician. I had recently had our house re-slated, so I am a bit precious about my roof, but I needn't have worried - the guys clearly know what they are doing. Minor snags were rectified quickly and the response to any emails or phone calls was quick and useful. As for the system itself, the performance appears to the spot on. I was particularly attracted to the fact that the inverter, battery and car-charger are all the same brand (Givenergy) - so they work well together and are all in the one app. There is also a very good web app. The car charger seems good too - once set up correctly, you can plug-in for excess solar power to top up your car, leave it plugged in to charge overnight on off-peak rates, or tap the key-fob to charge immediately at max power. Overall, I am very pleased with our installation and would not hesitate to recommend Start Solar.

Decided to investigate solar power . Looked at a few providers but settled on Start Solar. They set very clear expectations on what to expect from solar energy and were very competitive if not the best quote. Great communication throughout the process and installation was within 2 weeks of order. I'm not underestimating the work involved on the installation day but it felt simple and hassle free. No mess no upheaval no fuss. The installation team were friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to explain how it would work they also set up the app for both the main system and EV charger and explained how to use it. I'm a few days in to the system and I have no doubt that Solar is the way to go. Thanks to Andy and the team ..great experience and product.

I can only give great feedback to the Start Solar team. I had great service from start to finish, with clear information and a speedy installation meeting my requirements. The scaffolding was installed the day before and the whole installation of 16 panels, inverter and battery were installed by a great team in one day. The installation guys were respectful, clean, removed all waste and ensured fuller operational before leaving. Couldn’t recommend the team more to someone thinking about a solar and battery system.
