Bord gais offer great service packages, and are reliable and easy to contact and speak with, a pleasant change from automated phone lines for hours in end. Great company.

Dealing with Bord Gais has been a smooth enough trip for us, with paperless billing & Direct Debit payment there isn't too much to go wrong. Believe the offers are not the same as they were in previous years..no competition with prices. With the smart meter I could follow my usage 24/7 but since I changed plans , the usage display is gone. I think it should be available on all plans. Does anyone ever hear who wins the competitions
These folks give you one rate when selecting a contract then raise the rate a few weeks/months into the contract. They will lie and say to go for the smart plan because they will be cheaper going forward, and of course that was a lie. They will ask for feedback and then when you provide it not act on it. Bills are at random times so it isn't clear what you are paying for, 1 month, 1.5 months, 2 months, etc. Just a terrible company to have to deal with. No transparency, lies and just general scummy behavior. Oh and they increased their prices more than other energy companies. No respect for loyalty as well, they are happy to put one over a paying customer regardless of tenure - all my bills are always paid on time, automatically. 0 respect.

In renewing my plan by phone with Bord Gáis energy, I was given excellent assistance and information to understand the best option to choose and even as an existing customer it was better value with discounts than switching to another provider. Thank you Bord Gáis I’m grateful and very satisfied with your service. Highly recommend.
I don’t notice the 12 month payment because it’s so low
I don’t notice the 12 month payment, when it is time to book my service I get a reminder. It’s booked within two minutes. Very easy to use
Unrealistic method for calculating level billing
Company unable to implement monthly level billing .Their method of establishing the amount for level is based on an average of 4 months usage. When the 4 months is summertime there is no usage

Paid off an account over the phone with…
Paid off an account over the phone with a credit card they did not reset the pay as you go meter so the debt remained on the meter. Every time I top up now it takes half the top up for debt that does not exist. I’ve been in contact with them since last July 2025 by phone (each call takes about 20 minutes on average just to get to talk to a person) with no resolution plus countless emails I might add. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.

well after over 20 years of being with a different supplier this year i decided on a change,so after looking around and making plenty of phone calls to other providers ,my choice was easy.from the moment i made contact with BORD GAIS ENERGY .the severice was first class from customer services explaining a quistion i had which i had a lot there patiens was refreashing,and when i missed my date for my metre installation they sent a man out at 8 oclock that night with no fuss and installed it even the gasman who came out a true professional and a gentleman so with the best price ,best plans and amazing customer services i would highly recommend BORD GAIS ENERGY.........BEST REGUARDS

I’ve been with Bord Gáis for my gas and electric for years. I’ve always found the pricing to be competitive with no hidden extras, and I like the fact that I can pay my bill sporadically online. Customer service has always been great too.

I have been getting our boiler serviced for a long time now and find the engineers in Bord Gáis carry out a very thorough servicing of the boiler, which gives me great peace of mind. I would highly recommend this service.

Had boiler service and it was quick and efficient, engineer friendly and he explained what was done. Price was great and includes 12 month cover.
Great staff and communications is easy and no robot voice machine. Plus great discount on the bills and contracts. I have being a customer for 3 years and I just renewed my contract for another year and they called me no more than 5 minutes on phone 📱 quick and easy. I highly recommend.
While some of their customer services dept are excellent, with some others you would wonder if they received any training? Some often give out incorrect information especially with regard to information about direct debits. A recent query is currently in its fourth week, without a satisfactory answer. But as as service provider they are good, they like others just dont want customer asking questions, customers should just pay their bills and leave them alone!!
My third year with Bord Gais, and things just get more cost effective and easier to use when I need to renew my policy. Definitely recommend
Have shared before,had a boiler installed only to find the new cylinder tank they put in had no hot water. Turns out the valve near the tank wasn't adjusted correctly, and I was using the boiler more than I cared to see if the the tank would ever heat up,and of course it didn't. My question is,is bord gais going to pay my gas bill if it's too high? After all this shouldn't have happened as it was a basic test that should have been carried out before it was signed over to the customer. Oh, and nearly 2 weeks before someone came out to investigate the problem.
I had a boiler service in October which I organised through phone call centre when the company rings to offer the service. In the February I had to arrange another call out as the boiler wasn’t working and to even entertain an engineer going out we had to pay upfront over the call for a visit, which we did. Subsequently after the arranged appointment we started to receive threatening letters from Bord Gais re payment of the service which as far as we were concerned, was already paid! No explanation that there would be 2 fees was ever communicated to us. For this reason and only this reason I would not recommend a boiler service with your company!!!
Today I contacted Bord Gáis to update my ESB plan and I got talking to a wonderful lady called Kathleen. She fully explained every thing to me and saved me so much money on my ESB bill and I can only recommend BG to anyone that is looking to change. Thanks a million for all your help. Patrick ☘️
I have been a customer with Bord Gais close for 4 years now, up to this year customer service was really good. This year when I went to try and renew my plan I was on hold for over 20 minutes on two occasions so I choose the same EV Smart plan as I was on last year thought the online option. When I checked my account over the weekend I was shocked to discover that I wasn't on the same EV Smart Plan, I wasn't on any plan This is really important as we charge two EV's at night and has a result our bill increased dramatically. Very difficult to talk to some now, could only talk to a robot when I called today.
I have never had any issue with them. I have been a private and a business client for the last few years, any time I have a question, support is fairly easy to reach. With most companies, you are not a valued costumer after your first contract, but with Bord Gais Energy, they value their costumers, and try to keep the lowest most attractive price every year upon renewal. Haven't felt the need to search for a different supplier, and to continue being with them.
Booked my boiler annual service with Bord Gais. I was given a date and received text messages with regular updates re my appointment. On the day the engineer Rob rang me with advise he would arrive in 20mins and true to his word he did. He got to work immediately and was very professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bord Gais Energy engineers for gas boiler services.
The worst company ever. I had gas boiler service 17th of October. Engineer shut down my gas heater because between small part of rubber isolation was small gap. He said someone will contact with me to replace it. Nobody didn't contact with me. Since Saturday the 18th I contacting with customer service and try to get some Info when They will turn my heating on. Since 9 days I don't have heating. Highly not recommend that company. Since 3 years I paying my bills on time every year I pai 300e for gas boiler service and not even one person from this company cares about me and my situation So far I am 11days without gas heating
Bord Gais have always been the best for us. Good contact, good rates and the boiler service and contract is really excellent. We are with them over 15 years and never had an issue.
Made the switch to Level Pay and Direct Debit, as a long term customer of Bord Gais, achieving a discount rate of 32% on Rural Tarrif rate. Particularly welcome at this time, with rising energy costs and autumnal temperatures. Customer service was found to be both supportive and helpful, troublefree and prompt. Selected suitable direct debit date to suit customer needs. Just one phone conversation brought prompt benefits. Bord Gais taking care of loyal customers. Recommended, without the need to switch providers. 🌟
After 4+ years as a loyal customer with zero missed payments, they mistakenly closed my account (and told they cannot reopen it!?), used a wrong meter value (much higher than the current reading), changed my address without consent and posted the last bill with my personal details to that address (GDPR anyone!?), and then demanded a new 12-month contract to prevent a power cut. I was told it may take 10 working days for a reply to my complaints! Extremely stressful, and I would strongly advise others to avoid them. Cannot give 0 stars!
Good options to schedule payments and if you want to top up account in between it's very easy to do online. Easy tracking of usage and bills. Great rewards. I've signed up to hello fresh with an excellent discount. Was easy to transition from another company without interruption to any service! Would recommend
My provider BGE for a number of years now has been excellent. The mobile app to keep bills up to date is so easy to keep ahead. Although our apartment is electricity ONLY we have found in these years as a BGE customer much more favorable. Thank you. Cheers.
