No hesitation in recommending.

I got 3 quotes, AK weren't the cheapest, but when they talked through the quote, i was satisfied the equipment was of a higher spec. I went with AK based on the equipment, & feedback from the 'Irish Solar Owners' Group on FB, and I wasn't disappointed. The customer service is excellent. They were happy to fix a separate issue with my roof, when on site, & even repaired broken roof tiles at no extra cost.

All the company staff were very helpful and extremely efficient both in the office and installation sides. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to my friends and acquaintances. Everything was left impeccably clean and tidy at the end of the job.

AK Solar came recommended by a friend and it was great advice!! All the staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough to make sure the installation went smoothly. The work was very neat and they made sure to clean up after themselves before leaving. I would happily recommend AK Solar to anyone who is interested in solar panels. The team at AK Solar were incredibly clear and helpful right from the beginning. Communication was excellent, letting us know what we should expect on the day, when they would arrive etc, answering any queries we had in a timely manner. The team onsite on the day were professional and got the job done very quickly! The team have a process that works right from beginning to end. I would not hesitate in recommending them for solar work.

Just doing a follow up review of my solar system which was installed in February 2023 by AK Solar, house is a 2 bed terrace, 2 adults living in the property. system consists of 10 panels complete with eddy , no storage battery. My account is with SSE on a duel fuel budget ( gas and electricity) at a cost of of €85.00 per month . Taking into account of the government energy credit this year and credit for exporting energy back into the grid, ie. CEG payments , my total cost from January to end of December 2025 works out at €224.59 , yes that’s what I’m paying the entire year. The decision to trust and employ AK Solar back in 2023 for my system was the best investment I ever made made , it’s a no brainier to install a solar system, but I’d would highly recommend taking to Ak Solar as I could only endorse this company in the highest regard. Very efficient and great to deal with

The AK team were great to deal with from Eric, Clare and Rose in the office the experience was very good. Alan and the team were on site on the day of the install but heavy rain prevented them finishing. They quickly re-scheduled and got the system up and running. I would have no problem recommending AK for solar installations.

Great job done - caring, attentive and professional

My dealings with AK Solar are way above expectations. I’d highly recommend them. They agreed to deal with a warranty problem on a system installed by someone else. AK Solar’s care and attention has been outstanding. They handled the warranty claim on my behalf, Clare kept me informed during the process, the lads arrived when they said they would, even confirming when they were leaving their previous job and their expected arrival time, and they did the job well; knowledgeable, tidy and friendly. They also continued to monitor my system to see that it is functioning correctly.

Amazing experience from start to finish

Amazing experience from start to finish. We got a number of quotes from various companies and decided to go with AK Solar as their knowledge and customer care was second to none. No question was too big, small or silly. The lads arrived on time on day of installation, got stuck in and everything sorted in a matter of hours. Very clean and tidy, app explained really well. Cant recommend this company high enough

Avoid like the plague. 3 years later and we're still finding errors, and still having admin with ESB that AK Solar caused. They lied about the inverter model they installed. They lied about the battery brand they installed. They never filed the correct paperwork with ESB (or if they did, the dog ate their homework...) They avoid answering calls or emails, leaving us stranded with an illegal installation. I write this in the hope that someone else is saved years of pain.

Still delighted with the experience, over 2 years later

I deliberately held off writing this review until a couple of years had passed (our installation was in May 2023) so I could include any issues that might arise and report on how they were handled. But, in all honesty, there haven’t been any. Not one. The system has just sat there, happily doing its job for the past three summers, reducing our summer electricity bill to practically zero. We’ve had storms - strong enough to snap tree branches - but the panels have been absolutely fine. Thanks again, lads, for a great job at a fair price.

Top class service from start to finish

After contacting a number of different installers, AK Solar made the decision easy. From competitive pricing to their availability to answer all my questions, and then providing a convenient installation date, the entire experience was excellent. The admin and installation teams were friendly, helpful and knowledgable, and the post-installation service was top class. They even finalized the grant application process. I would strongly recommend AK Solar.

No even slightly curious about the equipment sitting in my roof which doesn't match the model numbers they stated in the (signed!) SEAI Grant Inspection Report, nor does it match the different model they put in the (signed!) Declaration of Works, nor does it match what they filled in on the NC6 and gave to SEAI. And yes, you refuse to answer my calls which is why I'm left with no option but to write a review here. Keep doubling down on your lies. I'll keep updating this review with the truth.

Great experience from start to finish. The team who installed the solar panels on the day were excellent, and did a very tidy job installing the components. I'd looked up other companies and gotten various quotes, but ultimately very glad I choose AK solar.

Great company, great service. From first contact to the completion of the job, they were a pleasure to deal with: upfront, efficient and well mannered. They did the job in good time, with no mess, and talked through issues as they arose. I recommend AK Solar highly.

I was very happy to deal with this company

I was very happy to deal with this company after seeing previous good reviews here, and on the Irish Solar owners group on Facebook. Eric was very easy to communicate with and was accommodating with my preferences. The lads did a great job installing everything in one morning. I got the job done on 23/6 and received the seai grant on 29/7. Clare & Rose were also great with all the paperwork, BER cert, manuals & warranties. I love checking the app to see how the panels are performing.

Highly Recommended

I’m very happy to recommend AK Solar. They’d came highly recommended to me and lived up to the reputation. We had very good initial communications with Eric and Clare to get a proposed system and a quote in place. Had the panels fitted a week after we signed up (helped by a cancellation). A great crew of guys arrived onsite around 8:30am and we were up and running by 1:00pm. They took their time to explain how it works before leaving. Overall it was a very friendly, and efficient service.

AK Solar have been all class!

AK Solar have been all class - great communication with Eric, Rose and Claire, all onsite jobs done perfetly by both roofers and electricians, grant applications done for both PV and EV charger and money has been paid. Everything was perfect from the beggining till the end and I can truly recommend AK Solar for everyone!

First class experience

The team were first class from start to finish. Clear and transparent communications and quotes. The lads arrived and installed the whole system on the day, took me through the system and app, etc. - great bunch of lads. Big shout out to Eric, Clare and Rose also who have been fantastic in the background. SEAI grant has been approved with no issues. Have been recommending this company to several friends and colleagues who have been thinking about getting panels installed, and would recommend to anyone else!

Stay away from these cowboys. Installed my PV system 2 years ago and refused to do after warranty service because 12 months has expired. However lady on the phone was saying that i breach contract because storage battery was installed??? Technician left system battery ready with DC breaker on the wall and why i cant install a battery its nonsense. Better go with someone else.

AK Solar - Would recommend! I ordered panels and a battery in November 2024 The System was due to be installed before Xmas but due to Holyhead issues that got delayed, the communication from AK Solar was excellent on this. The system was installed in 2 parts between the 10th and 15th of Jan 2025. The Work was quick and very tidy. The system is working well and any queries I had about it were promptly answered. AK also use the more advanced Aiko panels rather than the Jinko ones, they offer more wattage and a newer.

Excellent service, couldn’t recommend Clare, Alan, Eric and the team highly enough. We got our solar panels fitted in June this year and we haven’t looked back! Significant reduction in bills! Eric was so helpful, he gave us the steer that we needed to make an informed decision and we haven’t looked back! Thankyou again to everyone at AK solar, this has been a game changer!

Great sales and after sales service. Ken looked after me in early stages and Clare did an amazing job with all further follow up and my queries. Rose helped with the small issues we had with the grant application. Installation team was also great, left the place tidy and routed cables etc very tidy. They visited me first to take of existing system allowing me to do the construction work. Later installed new panels. Then as per my request further upgraded the system with battery. Overall they accommodated all my requests and did the work as per my satisfaction. Cost wise, they were not the cheapest, but one of the reasonable quotes I received. considering the service I received, very happy.

Just had AK Solar complete our installation. Panels went on a few days ago, the electrical work was done today. Couldn't be happier and cannot recommend highly enough. Both teams were punctual, professional, and left the place spotless. The team today worked hard to put the Inverter and Eddi where I needed them, wasn't the easiest solution but they got it done without fuss. You can tell they value their reputation and work hard to keep it. Great company to deal with.

Fantastic service from AKSolar - gave firm date and time for installation - two highly professional teams (roofers and electricians) worked solidly and were happy to explain anything in detail. Left the place as tidy as they found it and were cheefrful and polite throughout. I strongly recommend them to anyone considering solar - it's a fair price for a great job with immaculate service!
