Horrendous service

Horrendous! Avoid!! Switched to SSE Airtricity in January and so far the service has been horrendous. Started with setting up my online account. Part of the set up process requires email verification, but no matter how many times I tried I didn't receive the email verification. I tried contacting them via their web chat, and you're initially greeted by their awful virtual assistant - AVA. It was completely useless but eventually put me through to an actual member of staff (at least I think it was a real person). When I informed him what the issue was, he told me he'd need to log it with the IT team and I should try again in a weeks time! No apology, no proper resolution or proposed follow up, just "re-attempt in a weeks time". I then said I wanted to lodge a complaint about the service, which he told me he would submit. To date I've received no contact from SSE about the complaint, so I'm assuming it wasn't submitted or they just don't care. Then this week I received a bill from them, despite joining under the plan that promises a welcome credit of £130. I contacted them again and got the same adviser on the web chat. I asked him what had happened to my £130 welcome credit, and was advised you have to pay a bill first, then they apply a welcome credit. I didn't see this mentioned anywhere in the T&Cs. What's worse, he then advised me to contact them after the first bill is paid to ensure the welcome credit is applied! Why should I have to contact them to ensure I get the welcome credit! A promised welcome credit should be applied automatically to your account when it's opened. I'm now starting to doubt if I'll get the welcome credit.

Having multiple ways to contact SSE Airtricity meant that I could use WhatsApp and did not have to wait long for someone to respond. I don't like chat bots so dealing with a person was great. The staff I dealt with were very informative and helpful.

Negative reviews put me off moving to SSE

I had a guy at the door asking if I'd like to move to SSE I didn't have time at that stage so he said he'd come back. Lovely guy, so I had a bill ready for him to have a look at my current deal. I had a quick look at reviews before he returned and was glad I did. I had to apologise for wasting his time but I wasn't moving to them once I read these reviews only posted the last few days. It was gas and electricity I was moving. Hopefully they get their act together and anyone on here gets sorted with issues. Thanks for posting to warn others. I've given 3 stars as the salesman was so nice but have no idea what they are like as an energy provider.

Yesterday

Yesterday, I called SSE Airtricity and honestly, I was amazed by not only the professionalism but also the speed of the service which is very rare in Ireland unfortunately! And I want to say a big THANK YOU to Kayleigh for the impeccable experience! Keep it up, guys!

Overall it was a little stressful

Overall it was a little stressful, but I got the information I needed in the end. I've only recently become a customer of SSE Airtricity, so far I'm not that impressed with their communication, I'll give it a couple of months to see what they're like, if things don't improve I'll just take the hit of the cancellation fee.
